One of the pioneer establishments in Sheikh Zayed Road, the iconic Crowne Plaza Dubai is an upscale hotel brand with over 570 rooms, 12 international restaurants & bars, and has one of the largest meeting, conference, and banqueting facilities in the UAE.
Currently we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our Culinary team asHead Baker. This position has responsibility for preparing, baking and finishing desserts, breads and other baked goods in accordance with departmental quality standards and assisting with advanced presentations. You will also ensure that all operational requirements are identified and will be providing direction to all the kitchen team members including demi chefs, commis chefs, cooks, kitchen attendants.
You should have food service permit or valid health/food handler cards as required by the local government. You may be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays. This job requires ability to perform the following: carrying or lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds, standing up and moving about in the kitchen, handling food objects, products and utensils, bending, stooping and kneeling.
Other requirements for the role:
§ European training certificates/diplomas/ qualification
§ HACCP knowledge
§ Ensuring food quality and quantity meet standards
§ Need to have at least 3 years of relevant experience in a reputable bakery
§ Fluency in English is required.
§ Supervise and manage the kitchen in the preparation and presentation of all bakery items.
§ Excellent baking and communication skills
§ Ability to produce a wide variety of bread, Croissants, Danish and all bakery products.
§ Creativity with the bakery products is a plus
