Title: Senior - Financial Accounting Advisory Services
Location: GA-Atlanta
Within Ernst & Young's Assurance service line, Financial Accounting Advisiry Services (FAAS) professionals provide advisory services encompassing accounting and regulatory support on accounting change and special matters; accounting processes and controls support (remediation, long-term contract accounting and cost accounting); GAAP conversion and implementation; IPO and other public offering assistance; on call financial reporting advice; and transaction accounting and financial reporting assistance (purchase price allocation).

We currently have a career opportunity for a Senior to participate in and supervise multiple FAAS engagements as fieldwork leader of an engagement team.

Responsibilities
Confer and agree with other team members to create or customize work plans.
Execute procedures using the FAAS service delivery framework.
Ensure quality in delivering client service by directing daily progress of fieldwork, informing supervisors of engagement status.
Review work of staff to ensure completeness, accuracy, and proper documentation. Provide daily guidance and coaching to staff and help mentor, develop and evaluate them.
Follow through on client requests in a timely fashion, and manage expectations regarding the timing of deliverables and reports.
Develop and maintain productive working relationships with client personnel and assess client satisfaction.
Identify engagement and client service issues. Research and benchmark client data to industry data. Explain the client's critical success factors to the engagement team.
Archive FAAS engagements in a timely manner and in compliance with firm policy.
Discuss moderately complex accounting with the engagement team and client management. Analyze evidence, reach conclusions, interpret and apply standards, and identify non-compliance while applying a balanced view of all client matters.
Comply with all applicable firm policies and guidelines as well as the AICPA Code of Professional Conduct and other professional standards.
Benchmark client data to industry data in order to make possible recommendations for improvements.
Apply independent and objective professional judgment in applying auditing and accounting standards to meet engagement expectations, including regulatory requirements.
Demonstrate a good understanding of accounting concepts; keep informed of professional standards and firm policies (e.g., the guidance in our EY FAAS Policy Manual); and effectively apply this knowledge to moderately difficult and/or complex client situations.
Assist staff and interns in reaching their full potential by training and developing them and serving as a positive role model and mentor, willingly addressing questions, contributing constructively as a coach and providing timely on-the-job feedback.
Receive direction from the Manager, Senior Manager and Partner.

To qualify, candidates must have:
* a bachelor's degree and approximately 2 years of related work experience; or a graduate degree and approximately 1-2 years of related work experience
* an undergraduate or master's degree in accounting
* experience working as an auditor for a public accounting firm and particular business/industry experience to meet special needs
* CPA certification or be preparing to become licensed
* strong written and verbal communication, presentation, client service and technical writing skills
* ability and comfort level in researching client inquires and emerging issues, including regulations, industry practices and new technologies
* flexibility and willingness to travel on short notice, as necessary
