The Network Engineer II leads medium to small projects involving the planning, design, installation, and level 3 technical support of LAN/WAN data, voice and video information technology solutions with a focus on but not limited to security architecture design, strategies and compliance. The Network Engineer II’s responsibilities are to configure and implement VoIP and platforms, local and wide area networks, telecommunications, along with management and associated diagnostic tools to support new and existing technology architectures. The NEII makes decisions independently on Information Systems solutions, problems and methods and presents to leadership for input. The knowledge and expertise required at this level of work usually results from progressive work experience in large enterprise or retail environments. Participates/Leads the planning, evaluation, testing, selection, implementation and level 3 support of: - VoIP/SIP infrastructures that include system design and capacity planning. - Intranet/Integration Connectivity between systems Avaya, Cisco, Toshiba PBX’s and Contact Center Applications - Local and Wide Area Networks (LAN/WAN) - Network Management and Diagnostic tools The Engineer II collaborates with junior and sr. engineers on VoIP & networking technologies, standards, methodologies, and procedures. Participates and sometime leads development, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise voice and network standards and documentation. Participates in developing long term strategic, capacity and performance planning objectives and goals. Participates in enterprise VoIp network infrastructure audit activities and provides evidence as required. Participates with network infrastructure remediation activities Coordinates efforts to isolate and resolve network and contact center application related issues. Participates in IT and corporate lead initiatives. Researches new technology and evaluates viability to meet or exceed business requirements and goals. Qualifications: 5 years of planning, design, and implementation experience in VoIP network and networking in a large enterprise retail environment. Working knowledge of at least 3 of the following network related Cisco platforms: CUCM/CM, Unity, Routers, LAN switches, Working knowledge of the following: - Cisco CUCM (Rel 7+) - Cisco UCS - Cisco Unity - IP addressing - OSI model - Ethernet - Wireless - SIP 4 year college degree in related field or equivalent job experience. Preferred Qualifications Cisco/Avaya Certifications (CCNA Voice, Avaya ACA, ACS).
