*Job Description Summary*

This position performs the accounts payable function for the company, including providing excellent customer service to all departments, branches, and outside vendors.

*Job Details*

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

* Perform data entry, voucher balancing, check and EFT distribution, and filing on a daily basis.  Also prepares check register and support for bank transfer.
* Perform reconciliation between employee expense reports and receipts.
* Research vendor history in regards to past due amounts and customer questions.
* Stop payment requests from departments, branches and outside vendors.
* Basic knowledge of 1099 reporting.
* Provide excellent customer service to internal customers within the company, as well as providing assistance to vendors.  Work cooperatively with and maintain effective working relationship with co-workers and manager.
* Provide cash management support for verifying of wire transfers on GFX.
* Provide assistance to department for any office supply ordering, copying, faxing or similar tasks as needed.
* Willing to retrieve all invoices and general ledger postings for auditors as they arise.
* Cross train on other staff positions for backup coverage.  Assume other duties/projects as they arise and be responsive to the department.

REQUIREMENTS:

* Education- High school diploma or equivalency.
* Experience- Minimum 2 to 3 years accounts payable related work experience.  Includes experience with accounts payable, general ledger and spreadsheets.
* Working knowledge of general ledger required.
* Computer skills - Knowledge & experience in Microsoft Office PC software at an intermediate level.  Willingness to learn other software as needed.  Experience with PeopleSoft software a plus.
* Possess problem solving and reconciliation skills necessary to research problems that develop.
* Work cooperatively with and maintain effective communication and working relationship with co-workers and managers.
* Possess good judgment, ability to accept responsibility, set priorities, and handle confidential information.
* Ability to learn quickly, ask questions, take instruction constructively, and be flexible in doing assorted tasks.
* Must be a self starter, dependable, and accurate.  Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential.
* Ability to accept and facilitate change.
* Willingness to assume additional responsibilities/ duties/ projects as they arise.
* Willingness to gain additional education if necessary.
* Regular and punctual attendance.
* Hours:  8am – 5pm.  Overtime may be required.
