Job Purpose: The Warehouse Technician is responsible for order pulling, product receiving, shipping, packaging, labeling, inventory tracking, and other warehouse related tasks. This position reports to the Warehouse Supervisor.  Essential Job Responsibilities Accuracy in order pulling, shipping and receiving of hazardous and non-hazardous materials Prepare freight bills and monitor accuracy of completion Work closely with freight carriers and delivery services to ensure fastest, safest and most economical on-time delivery of products Ensure orders are shipped to proper customer location, minimizing spill rates Monitor bin locations, shelf life and FIFO, inventory counting, and cycle counts Must maintain valid certificate of completion for forklift operations Must maintain valid certificate of completion for DOT / HazMat 49 CRF 172.704 (Hazardous Material Transportation) and IATA, if applicable Must follow all federal and state compliance requirements in shipping and receiving products Assist with ISO quality assurance Responsible for preventive maintenance and incident reporting for warehouse safety Must facilitate two-way communications with coworkers and supervisory personnel to ensure full customer satisfaction Must wear appropriate safety gear while on duty Must monitor warehouse safety and personnel access to warehouse area Must attain 20 training hours per fiscal year Performance Standards Order pulling & shipment with product accuracy; errors not to exceed .75% of invoice orders per month Minimum 98% of orders shipped in same business day; not to exceed 3WD Paperwork accuracy 99.5% or better Receive, verify, record, and place incoming stock within 24 hours of receipt 99.5% or better accuracy rate for recording incoming stock Cycle count items weekly as required Randomly test bin locations annually for product identification errors; errors not to exceed 2% New hires must complete forklift, HazMat, OSHA, and general safety awareness training within 90 days of hire; training must be renewed within 30 days of certificate expiration date (governed by law). Attainment of 20 training hours per fiscal year Ship orders as required to meet customer due dates on order General Warehouse Maintenance duties Accurate order picking and order processing Product identification, tracing, storage, and delivery Education & Experience High School diploma or GED required 2+ years warehousing experience in an industrial, semi-conductor, and/or distribution industry If hired to work in Chemical Logistics Group, 2+ years chemical warehousing experience may be required HazMat Certified or willing to complete the necessary training within 90 days of hire 2+ years inventory processing, cycle counting and reconciliation May be required to possess a valid drivers license and be subject to periodic DMV checks Computer literate in MS Word and Outlook; working knowledge of shipping & receiving software Core Competencies Organizational Skills Attention to Detail Sense of urgency in responsiveness Ability to Adapt to Workplace Environment & Organizational Change Must be reliable, dependable, punctual, and conscientious about production performance Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, previous employment verification, federal and county criminal background check Physical Demands Able to lift up to 50 lbs. if necessary Ability to stand for long periods of time daily Conducive to fluctuations in warehouse temperatures Ability to drive a forklift and follow safety standards
