Service Area Overview: Accredited by the American Diabetes Association, Diabetes & Nutrition Services at Northside Hospital offers a comprehensive diabetes, nutrition and weight management program. The focus of the program is to help people with diabetes obtain knowledge and develop the skills needed to make healthy lifestyle changes and minimize the risk of complications from diabetes. Our multidisciplinary team approach to nutrition includes registered dietitians, clinical exercise physiologists and other health specialists.

Position Description: Prepares and implements nutritional care plans in the NICU, for patients from birth to 18 months of age in accordance with departmental policy and standards of care. Screens patients identified at high risk per hospital protocol. Evaluates and modifies the nutrition care plan on an ongoing basis. Acts as a liaison between the Nutritional Services Department and the Medical Staff, Nursing Staff and other Ancillary Departments. Responsibilities involve providing Infant Formula Educations, and in depth nutritional assessments/Follow-up care in the NICU.
Position Requirements: Required: B.S. degree in Foods and Nutrition, and Dietetic Internship or equivalent training. Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the American Dietetic Association. Current licensure as a Dietitian in the State of Georgia.Specialized training with neonatal population. Preferred:Two (2) years’ experience in clinical dietetics with broad areas of expertise preferred
