Primary Function: *Produces high quality feeds efficiently while controlling the cost per ton produced by good labor management and proper preventive maintenance. *Supervises the delivery and pick-up of feed orders to and from poultry farms as well as controls cost oflabor and equipment used in efficiently delivering feed. Major Responsibilities: *Supervises the manufacturing activities and coordinates closely with railroad, Nutritional Services Department, vendors and transportation companies. *Does accurate feed and ingredient sampling in order to maintain quality control program. *Verifies weights on incoming ingredients and reports discrepancy to Nutritional Services. *Helps staff and train mill positions. I *Takes accurate inventory daily on feed ingredients and accurate inventory daily on finished feeds and sacked products. *Provides accurate inventory and other feed mill records to division Accounting Department daily. *Directs and applies an effective safety program that includes monthly inspections and safety meetings. *Supervises the unloading process to ensure all incoming ingredients are of the quality expected and are unloaded into the proper bins *Maintains compliance with all local, state, and federal regulatory agencies. *Weighs feed trucks and other trucks as necessary. *Collects signed delivery tickets, feed pick-up tickets, and log reports, submitting these to the Production Accounting Department. *Maintains a high level of performance on the part of all drivers under his jurisdiction. *Investigates, checks and reports on route, equipment, schedules and other conditions facing the driver. *Maintains close contact with the truck shop and acts as liaison between the driver and the shop. *Performs other duties as required. Key Working Relationships: *Accountable to and works closely with Feed Mill Manager. *Communicates with field service personnel and other milli:1g/delivery supervisors. *Schedules work flow with Feed Mill Manager. *Coordinates with Nutritional Services Department on feed manufactuling schedule and raw ingredient scheduling. *Provides information daily to division Accounting Department. Position Requirements: 1.Academic: High school diploma or equivalent or related experience. 2.Experience: Two years supervisory experience. 3.Personal: Identifies with the values, philosophy and mission of Sanderson Farms, Inc. Ability to supervise and direct others. Ability to schedule and coordinate activities.
