As a Senior UI Engineer at Millennial Media, you will own critical components of our product offerings. Your passion for delivering creative and efficient user interfaces and your knowledge of related open source and emerging technologies will ensure that our platform continues to lead the market and achieve our vision and very high standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
As a Senior UI Engineer on our team, you will:
* Design and implement the UI for significant aspects of our product roadmap using primarily Ember.js, HTML5, and CSS3. We have many interesting projects on deck all focused on crushing the market.
* Collaborate with other UI and UX professionals, backend engineers, and product managers to realize and deliver these new capabilities to market. This is a high visibility engineering role.
* Participate in all aspects of an Agile/Scrum engineering process from sprint planning to retrospective. You will directly impact how we operate as a team because it’s your team.
* Bring your creativity to bear by proposing innovative approaches and emerging technologies to ensure our product and technical excellence.
Requirements:
You bring several years of design and development experience on rich web-based user interfaces. You possess expert level skills inJavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and JSON plus strong experience with jQuery and broader JavaScript frameworks. Our framework of choice is Ember.js, but expertise in comparable frameworks (e.g., Angular.js) plus a demonstrated ability to pick up new technologies rapidly works for us. You are also proficient working with RESTful server APIs from JavaScript and these frameworks. Implementing responsive design concepts across device types and experience wading through and resolving cross-browser issues are strong pluses.
You have an excellent Computer Science or comparable background including OO fundamentals and design patterns; you know “why” things are, not just “what” they are. You also know and demonstrate that staying current is a never ending process. You enjoy passing knowledge on and believe as we do that everyone has something to teach and something to learn.
