This position is funded from the Commonwealth''s capital budget.Duties:
Gather and analyze data and information on policies and efforts at the local, state and national level to inform policy development for the Integrated Facilities Management initiative and other efforts as needed, for example Shared Services.

Develop written materials and reports, including publications to share with external stakeholders and decision-makers.

Conduct research on best practices and effective policies from the private sector and other public jurisdictions.

Work closely with Agency business units on special project initiatives, as assigned. Current Projects include:

-Build a Business Case for Shared Services: Creating a Records Retention Center-

-Integrated Facilities Management-

-Organizational Transformation: Creating Case Study Of Reforms Within DCAMM-

- Define the Problem
- Pull together documentation from existing State and private entities around record retention- Research possible shared services models that would apply
- Research legal issues, find out if local State and local Federal entities would impact the case study of the business model
- Identify framework for a cost analysis
- Create communication tools necessary to engage internal senior leadership. Work with staff on developing and tracking performance metrics and accountability of work.

Support staff working on internal and external ad hoc committees and working groups as necessary.

Make presentations to external/internal audiences as directed.

Provide administrative support as needed, including updating files and directories, answering telephones, data entry, maintaining files, and other related support functions when needed.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:
Degree Candidate in business administration, social services, communications, community development, facilities management, facility engineering, technology or related field.

Ability to work independently, and as a part of a team.

Ability to follow written and oral instruction, to manage multiple tasks and time effectively, and to meet deadlines.

Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail.

Ability to maintain a professional demeanor in person, in written communications and over the telephone.

Knowledge of research/evaluation design and methods, database design and management, data collection instruments, data entry and data verification processes.

Skills using computers, competence in Windows and Microsoft Office (Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Ability to determine the most appropriate format and procedure for assembling and presenting information.

Ability to respond to flexible job requirement.

A valid Massachusetts Class D Motor Vehicle Operator-s License or equivalent from another state is preferred.

Comments:
The incumbent in this position provides direct support to the Office of the Commissioner under the supervision of the Director of Integrated Facilities Managment (IFM) Planning by providing assistance as identified and necessary.
