The Department of Clinical Cancer Prevention at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is recruiting a M.D. or M.D., Ph.D. board certified, internist or family medicine physician, at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professors, Clinical Faculty Appointment. We are seeking a clinician interested in cancer prevention, cancer screening and early detection, risk assessment, or cancer genetics. Candidates must be board eligible or board certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine, and be eligible for licensure in the State of Texas. Priority will be given to candidates planning on developing a cancer prevention, early detection, and survivor clinical practice. These positions will involve predominately clinical service in the Cancer Prevention Center at MD Anderson Cancer Center, and protected time for research and education. The Clinical Cancer Prevention Department is a multidisciplinary department whose members conducts basic, translational, and cancer prevention clinical research, and provides clinical cancer prevention services and education. The mission of the department is to reduce cancer incidence, morbidity and mortality through multifaceted cancer prevention approaches on the local, national and international levels. Responsibilities include providing patient care in inpatient and outpatient environments, education of students, patients, and fellows. Department members conduct pre-clinical or clinical studies testing novel cancer screening, early detection, or risk assessment methods, or novel cancer preventive interventions. Candidates will have an opportunity to interact with cancer prevention researchers and will be able to enroll their patients on cancer prevention and early detection clinical trials.
