Job Description
McKean Defense Group, LLC is a privately held Naval Life Cycle Management, Engineering, Enterprise Transformation and Program Management business headquartered in Philadelphia, PA. McKean’s engineers, developers, technical staff, programmers, analysts, and program managers identify and deploy new shipboard technologies, integrate information technology across shipboard platforms, and develop strategies to support the Warfighter. Instructional Systems Designers (ISDs) to provide customer support in the assessment, design, and development of training programs and curricula. The design of curricula is accomplished according to customer and program objectives, using the principles of adult learning theories, applicable learning technologies and industry best practices for instructional design.
Required Skills
Comprehensive understanding of Learning Theories, and current practices and techniques used with the systematic approach to instructional design.
Ability to read, interpret, organize and synthesize source material into well-written, concise learning and knowledge assets
Technical proficiency with the Authoring Instructional Material (AIM) II, AIM/System and Content Planning Module (CPM), and AIM/Learning Object Module (LOM) software applications.
Ability to apply the Integrated Learning Environment (ILE) principles and guidelines for the design and development of training products.
Ability to develop and apply Job Duty Task Analysis (JDTA) data to courseware development.
Ability to assess and close Gaps in training and learning products.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong technical proficiency in Microsoft Office Computer programs.
Ability to learn and establish a working knowledge of the terminology used in the military and use this information in the development of training materials.
Required Experience
Bachelor's degree in Education, Instructional Design or two or more years of related field experience in training, education or instructional design.
