**Description**

The Web Marketing Specialist leads Leica Biosystems internet marketing efforts. Through in-depth analytics and working with cross-functional teams and external resources, he/she develops and executes programs to increase website traffic and leads. This position is responsible implementing all digital marketing and online lead generation activities. This person will provide his or her strong analytical skills, business acumen, and innovative marketing ideas to build a better digital marketing program by measuring, optimizing, testing, recommending, and implementing enhancements on all programs and campaigns. This person will own tactics including but not limited to email, search engine optimization (SEO), search engine marketing (SEM), landing pages, web capture forms and lead acquisition. This position is responsible for the day-to-day management and execution of Digital Marketing programs and tactics. The ideal candidate is analytical, energetic and has solid experience working with search marketing applications.

Key Responsibilities:

* Overseeing the implementation of search engine marketing (SEM) through pay-per-click (PPC) campaigns. Monitors and optimizes campaigns w/ management. Manage the paid search accounts within Google, Bing & Yahoo based on profitable growth.
* Manage the financial planning, tracking and analysis of campaign data both on-going and historical
* Manage SEO (Search Engine Optimization) to increase organic search visibility and ranking.
* Maintain and manage all aspects of the web site content and landing pages using a content management system (CMS) and ensure overall quality, accuracy and relevancy of the website
* Build and continuously enhance SEO to improve natural search rankings
* Manage the development, implementation, monitoring, tracking and optimizing of PPC campaigns such as Google AdWords.
* Improve click-through and conversion rates
* Manage the placement of relevant content on external PR websites, including news sites, business associations through the digital marketing team
* Develop and tests ad copy for the paid search channel. Collaborate with the marketing team to design and develop landing page tests and work with web development group to execute those tests
* Lead the planning and execution of email marketing programs and triggered email campaigns.
* Includes ownership of list generation, list management, compliance with the CAN-SPAM Act, local privacy laws, A/B testing, subscription center development, scheduling optimization and email design.
* Monitoring deliverability and overall account reputation to ensure messages are being delivered to the inbox
* Track and manage Leica Biosystems’s presence on industry directory sites.
* Overseeing the implementation strategic backlinking, directory placement, and search engine optimization (SEO) strategies
* Manage website content to ensure a first class customer experience, while supporting Leica Biosystems strategies and business priorities
* External vendor/contractor management
* Perform data analysis around web traffic and other key metrics
* Set targets, monitor KPIs, and set up mechanisms to measure multiple campaigns across many online channels
* Provide daily, weekly, and/or monthly campaign performance reports

**Qualification**

Professional Experience

* 2 years digital marketing experience in a for-profit (preferably B2B) organization
* 2 years experience with search engine marketing: including developing and running pay-per-click campaigns as well as conducting organic search engine optimization
* 1 year experience managing e-mail marketing campaign including development of email and tracking and analysis of results
* 2 year experience developing and optimizing landing pages for both email and PPC campaigns
* Experience with social media including Twitter, Linkedin, etc.
* Proven track record of growing leads and sales through online and mobile marketing

Required Skills

* 2 years SEM account management or comparable digital experience
* Thorough knowledge of Search Engine Advertising/Search Engine Marketing including campaign creation and optimization. .A thorough understanding of PPC (pay-per-click) bidding strategies, campaign conversion & ROI (return-on-investment) measurement. A thorough understanding of CPL (cost-per-lead), CPI (cost-per-inquiry) and CPC (cost-per-click)
* Thorough knowledge of Search Engine Optimization including on-page optimization and link building techniques
* Understanding of Google analytics tools and the ability to set up tracking/reporting mechanisms to capture key metrics
* Experience with marketing automation software such as Pardot is an advantage.
* Understanding of web design, development and management processes. Practical knowledge of XHTML is an advantage.
* Minimum of 2 years' experience in creating and executing email campaigns. Basic web design skills (HTML, CSS) to generate and modify email templates
* Strong analytical skills: ability to gather, analyze, summarize, and present data.
* Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and shift priorities quickly
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
* Familiar with search campaign management tools, including AdWords Editor
* Google Adwords Certification a plus, but not required.
* High knowledge of statistics and analytics
* Very knowledgeable in use of digital analytics tools, lead generation methods, and optimization methodologies
* Understanding of ROI concepts and performance measurements

Education

* Bachelor's degree in relevant field required (Business, Computer Science, Marketing or similar discipline).

Note: Travel will be required less than 5% of the time in this role.
