Trofholz has an immediate opportunity for an experienced Applications Programmer.
The Applications Programmer supports a Language Portal and CLPM Database. Responsibilities include developing, managing, and supporting the LMS and CMS systems, and creating/updating web pages. The candidate must have expertise in in DoD system architectural framework and .Net development. Major responsibilities include systems design, application development, system security compliance, security policy compliance, Information Assurance compliance, Tier 2 and 3 technical support, on-call service support, and monthly status reporting. This position requires an active DoD issued TS/SCI clearance.
* Refines and integrates application development for the Language Portal and CLPM Database
* Understands client business and technical requirements and delivers appropriate end-to-end solutions consisting of component-based, services-oriented applications development using various web frameworks and complementary Microsoft technologies
* Develops and delivers e-learning solutions by designing, implementing and managing content
* Serves as interface between users and technical staff; users may include military, government, foreign language instructors, contractors, and other non-technical personnel
* Provides training and customer support for web based products
* Provides guidance and direction regarding Web publishing standards, policies and best practices
* Documents existing systems, processes and policies
* Gathers, imports and populates supporting meta-data for stakeholders
* 6 years of hands on related technical experience
* Proficient with .net web application development, standard SQL development, Microsoft Visual Basic.net, Experience with MS SQL Server and MS Access databases
* Exposure to Visual Studio .NET 2005/2008/2010
* Experience with database access methods (ADO, ODBC, etc.)
* Software development expertise for creating Web-driven application and enterprise integration, relational database design, application architecture, security design and software development methodologies and processes
* Experience in design and analysis; project planning
* Ability to work on several simultaneous projects, reacting constructively to new and changing business and technology requirements and deliverables
* High level of self-motivation, productivity and attention to detail
* Well-organized; with excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, multi-tasking, verbal and written communication skills
* Attention to detail, customer-service orientation, and creativity in problem-solving
* Ability to work in a team environment
* Ability to read, write and speak English
* Active Top Secret clearance with special accesses
**Education:**
* Bachelor degree in computer science, or related field. In lieu of education, four years of additional, relevant experience may be considered equivalent
**Preferred:**
* J2EE, C++, Unix, Linux, RDBMS, Apple Architectures
* Experience implementing solutions for the DoD and USAF
