(1) Manages and oversees all disaster preparedness functions of the group and its subordinate units. Provides a technical training program for the Disaster Preparedness Mobility/Support Teams, the Disaster Preparedness Response Force, and other

specialized teams. Determines the adequacy of training by observing performance under simulated disaster conditions.

Assures the training of all mobility personnel in the use and operation of such protective devices as decontaminated kits,

auto-injector/pins. ground crew ensemble, protective mask, etc. Trains personnel in the identification of physiological reactions

to chemical warfare agents, and in self aid. treatment, and survivability. Provides technical advice and assistance to the

* n-scene commander during simulated/actual accident/attack response. Ensures that corrective action is taken on all

discrepancies identified in staff assistance reports, exercise reports, and inspections by higher headquarters. Maintains

disaster preparedness records, directives, and publications, including plans and applicable technical orders.

(2) Develops and implements local disaster preparedness concepts, policies, and procedures utilizing USAF and NQB

directives and guidelines. Advises the group commander and members of the contingency support staff concerning the current

status of preparation, training, and overall disaster response capabilities and limitations. Assists and guides units in

preparing plans, annexes, appendices, and operating procedures. Reviews and approves or disapproves implementing instructions. Ensures standardized disaster preparedness grid maps, charts, and displays are issued and available to appropriate organizations. Establishes and operates the Disaster Control Center during emergencies and test exercises. Develops, implements, and

monitors plans forthe protection of personnel from radiological and chemical fallout. Directs and administers the fallout shelter

program. Distributes civil defense shelter kits and,equipment.

****Education****

***SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION**:* NOTE: College Transcripts are required if you wish to use Education as a substitution for experience or if a degree is a requirement for the position. **A copy of the transcript must be submitted with the Job Application.** Study successfully completed in a college, university, technical or vocational school may be substituted for experience at the rate of one year of study (30 semester hours or 20 classroom hours of instruction per week) for 6 months of experience. Courses must be directly related to the work of the position. **Maximum credit is 6 months of specialized experience.**

This position is being announced in accordance with state merit promotion procedures and collective bargaining agreement. Wearing of the appropriate military uniform is required while employed in this position. Permanent change of duty station (PCS) funds are not available.
