Northrop Grumman Corporation Electronic Systems is seeking a Business Development Manager for its Sensors Strategic Business Unit business in its Naval & Maritime Systems Division. The position will be located in Baltimore, Maryland.
In this role the Business Development Manager will have the following responsibilities: identify, qualify, pursue, bid, and
win new business opportunities in the domestic and international Maritime Sensors and Combat Management System
market segment; assist in long range and strategic planning activities; lead opportunity pursuit strategy formulation
and execution activities; investigate and form partnerships and alliances specific to assigned market segments and
business opportunities; Research and communicate competitor positions in the marketplace; lead Pursuit and Bid/No-Bid decision briefings; participate in Capture Management and Proposal
Development activities; maintain positive, ongoing relationships with existing industrial, military and other potential
customers at all levels of the organization; and interface with the NGES engineering and research & development
functions to develop technical discriminators and customer solutions.
Qualifications: A leader who can conceptualize, organize, and execute a market development campaign targeted at
the global Maritime Sensors/Combat Management community for long-term growth. Candidates should have a strong
maritime background coupled with experience coordinating across a large enterprise. Candidate will have experience
translating market needs and prioritizing to support key initiatives. Candidate will have experience engaging with business
area executives, senior uniformed, agency, international industrial customers and coordinating with sector and corporate
government relations to develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns.

• Bachelor's degree in an appropriate field
• 10-15 years relevant experience (preference for ex- USN, Naval Surface Warfare).
• Must have a thorough knowledge of customers within the US Naval acquisition, requirements development, operational, test & evaluation and
research & development communities
• Knowledge of international business practices
• Knowledge of government procurement policies and procedures
• Business development defense-related marketing experience
• Demonstrated experience working with and influencing internal and external customers, and possess excellent written,
verbal, interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills.
• Must have ability to travel 25% of the time
• Must have an active/transferrable Secret security clearance required, with ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
• A masters degree in appropriate discipline
• An understanding of the U.S. Government and DoD market segments, and of bidding processes, procurement policies,
and regulations in those market segments is also desired.
• The ideal candidate will have experience in both Navy and Joint Agency markets, and have existing relationships in
those areas.
• Experience with Foreign Military Sales
