We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to design newproducts, improve current products, and improve manufacturing processes.Primary Responsibilities Develop new product lines, evolve existing products, and standardizecurrent product offerings to deliver higher quality, lower cost, andimproved manufacturability Prototyping, testing, and manufacturing validation of new products Effectively move designs from engineering to manufacturing Interface with internal and external customers on design projects Troubleshoot field failures and internal failures, driving to rootcause and corrective actions Work with manufacturing team to ensure that product launches and productquality standards are maintained Design of assembly and test fixtures Create and implement appropriate test plans Participate in cost studies, equipment recommendations and otherengineering and economic studies Establish timelines and budgetary estimates for project delivery Update product designs as required to meet quality and cost improvementgoals Work towards standardization of designs and component selections tocreate and improve efficiency throughoutRequired Knowledge Structural analysis, rapid prototyping, engineering documentation standards Experience in supporting products from initial design through manufacturing Experience with complex electro-mechanical products is desired CFD, FEA, and working knowledge of pumping technologies is a plus Experience with sensor design and electro-mechanical products is a plus Structure and content of the English language including the meaning andspelling of words, rules of composition, and the ability to use thesetools to describe a step by step process POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Education and Knowledge BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent Skills Demonstrated design skills, analytical skills, and creative problemsolving skills Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and to meet deadlines Excellent self-starter with the ability to work independently in afast-paced environment Tactical and strategic thinking skills Excellent communication skills Proven critical thinking skills Data driven decision making Ability to work closely and effectively with engineering andmanufacturing personnel Problem solver and team player with a strong work ethic Ability to design in a 3-d CAD environment, Solidworks CAD experience a plus Ability to analyze and interpret test data, and to present this datain a technical report Communicate effectively and clearly at daily team meetings WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL CONDITIONS Manufacturing and office environment Minimum to moderate physical activityIn-Situ Inc. builds world-class environmental monitoring instruments ... andworld-class careers!
