POSITION DESCRIPTION:The Garden Ranch YMCA is hiring for a responsible and energetic leader whowill develop, organize and implement high quality YMCA Healthy Living andGroup Fitness programs including supervision of instructors, personaltrainers and floor staff. This individual will promote long-term involvementthrough a variety of exceptional programs and services that result innurturing the potential in children (youth development), supportingmembers in their wellness journey (healthy living), and driving advocacyand community awareness (social responsibility).MINIMUM CRITERIA FOR CANDIDATES:Required:Bachelor s degree in related field with minimum of 6 months full timeexperience or AA/AS degree with three to five years full time experienceMinimum age of 21Must have completed current YMCA Healthy Lifestyle Principles certification.Must have current YMCA of the USA Foundations of Group Exercise OR current ACEGroup Fitness Instructor, AFAA Group Fitness Instructor certification,NETA Group Exercise certification, ACSM Group Exercise certification. Musthave current AAPTE, ACSM, ACE, NSCA, AFAA, NASM, NETA, CooperInstitute, IFPA, NCCPT, NCSF, NESTA, NSCA, and/or YMCA of theUSA Foundations of Strength and Conditioning certificationFour or more years of experience leading group fitness classes and personaltrainingGeneral knowledge of fitness principles and training adaptions including basicanatomy and physiologyPrevious hiring and supervisory experience and development of staffStrong skills are necessary in supervision, management, expense control,public relations, promotion, public speaking, written and verbalcommunication skills, fundraising and record-keepingExperience with program design, implementation and retentionALL YMCA staff positions require certifications in CPR/AED for theProfessional Rescuer, First Aid and Oxygen Administration. Preferredcandidates will have current certifications upon hiring however training isavailable.KEY FOCUS AREAS:Recruits, hires, trains, develops, supervises, schedules and directsstaff and volunteers as neededDevelops, implements, directs and supervises program activities to meetYMCA objectives. Establishes new program activities and expands programwithin the community in accordance with strategic and operating plansFacilitates collaborative communication and provides leadershipAccountable for membership, retention, fee-based programs and pathwayimplementation and successDevelop and monitors program budgets to meet fiscal objectivesManage equipment and facilities in area of responsibility includingpreventative maintenance and repair and replacement planning of equipmentSALARY RANGE:$31,500-$37,000 annuallyplus 12% retirement benefits after eligibility requirements are met
