**McKesson is hiring for a Marketing Events Manager.**

Position Description

***Position Summary:***

* Responsible for strategy, planning, execution, metrics and budget of major internal and external business unit events and meetings.
* Supports business unit and marketing initiatives through the development and delivery of events and meetings.

This position is also responsible for managing the Marketing Events team.

***Key Responsibilities:***

Owns the complete meeting experience for of the Medical-Surgical business units’ two largest strategic meetings per year: the Leadership Meeting and the National Sales Meeting. This includes determining the approach, agenda and metrics needed to ensure strategic outcomes.

* **Leadership Meeting**: [approx. 400 attendees.] Site procurement, overall budget management and reporting, logistics planning, vendor management (i.e. production company, on-site registration mgmt, etc.) online registration, master agenda ownership, travel, on-site logistics, post-meeting budget resolution.
* **National Sales Meeting**: [approx. 2,000 attendees.] Site procurement every other year; business unit overall budget management and reporting; core planning team leadership; logistics planning; vendor management (i.e. production company, online registration, on-site registration mgmt, content consultants, etc.); business unit master agenda ownership; on-site logistics, post-meeting budget resolution for business unit.

Prioritizing the Marketing Events team’s workload to meet business unit’s needs for other strategic meetings and events throughout the year. This includes regional tradeshows, segment meetings and some community events.

Collaborating with key stakeholders to ensure the successful planning and execution of meetings and events. These stakeholders include but are not limited to:

* Marketing managers
* Sales leadership
* Executive leadership team
* McKesson Corporate Marketing Events team

Provide project management of cross functional teams in the planning and execution of large events and strategic projects including oversight hotels, production companies and other vendors.

Responsible for the planning and implementation of events that support the business unit and the marketing function. Works individually or with a team in recommending action, scheduling and planning projects, estimating cost and managing projects to completion.

Responsible for developing objectives and strategies for trade shows and/or events. Manages and executes projects and marketing plans to maximize exposure and sales leads. Determines show participation, calendar of events, and selection and training of personnel. Directs exhibit design program including production.

Minimum Requirements

* **8+** years of event planning experience including** 5+** years managerial experience

Critical Skills

* Must have extensive meeting planning experience.
* Must have proven experience in successfully coordinating and executing very large meetings. (i.e. more than 500 attendees, more than $500K budget.)
* Must have strong Project Management skills.
* Must have ability to manage large, complex budgets from the planning phase to reconciliation.
* Ability to perform well on multiple projects in a fast paced / deadline oriented environment.
* Ability to communicate with executive team, McKesson Corporate teams, Marketing team, and external vendors.
* Experience working in Microsoft Office Software Suite

Education

* 4-year degree in Marketing, Business or related field or equivalent experience
