Job Functions

- Develop technical capabilities in dealer service departments by conducting or arranging for individual and group training to provide technical knowledge and knowledge of maintenance and repair methods. Encourage and initiate dealer and customer participation in maintenance, repair, and truck operation training programs.Assist dealers with customer sales contacts by providing the service information and maintenance advantages of products.Analyze field product failure information and provide feedback to headquarters staff to assist in corrective action and product improvements in the areas of product liability, truck serviceability, reliability, and general customer satisfaction. Assist in resolving product liability cases as requested by the Product Liability group. Investigate and report accident information as requested by the Product Liability group.Administer warranty policy expenditures within the district. Provide consistent, equitable decisions regarding expenditures. Ensure that decisions comply with company policies and result in customer and dealer understanding. Promote and monitor the efficient and consistent operations of standard warranty and service repair programs within the district. Provide training to assist dealership staff in understanding warranty policies and procedures. Supervise field modification, fleet modification, and recall programs within the district. Monitor the accuracy, cost effectiveness, and general rate of progress of technical workmanship performed by dealership service personnel.Ensure that dealership service facilities meet company standards and they have the capability to provide technical service consistent with customer expectations and consistent with company image. Periodically visit and inspect dealer service facilities within the district to assess adequacy and quality.Consult with Dealership Service Manager and/or dealer principal concerning service facility layout, tooling, personnel and procedures. Provide guidance to Dealer Service development in the acquisition of service equipment. Assist dealership service staff in investigating and solving product service problems by providing expert technical advice.-
Basic Qualifications

- Bachelor?s degree with 2 years of related experience; OR an Associate?s degree with 4 years related experience; OR 8 years of related Daimler experience AND 1 year group leader / project lead / mentoring experience required.-
