Altria Client Services’ role is to provide high quality services to the Altria family of companies. We are currently seeking a highly qualified attorney to join our Law Department in Richmond, VA.

The position is within the Law Department’s Sales Practice Group and reports to ALCS Assistant General Counsel. The successful candidate will join the team that provides legal support related to the distribution, sale and promotion of Altria’s tobacco operating companies’ products in the U.S. and its territories.

Specific Skills

The candidate must be highly engaged; capable of operating in a fast-paced environment; show strategic thinking and attention to detail; and have strong communications skills. Qualified candidates should be able to handle multiple, competing priorities in a rapidly evolving environment, manage substantial workload and client expectations and successfully interact with all management levels. The individual also must demonstrate leadership attributes, reliability, good judgment, teamwork, time management and effective legal research and writing skills. Client counseling experience is preferred. Specific experience with antitrust and competition law concepts is helpful, but not required. Similarly, contract drafting experience may be helpful, but is not required.

A law degree is required, with a solid record of achievement. The position requires between 5 and 10 years’ experience in a law firm or corporate legal department. Admission to a state bar is required.
