**Job Purpose** Responsible for analyzing inventory levels preparing information for reports or studies utilized in determining adjustments to stocking levels\. Work involves accuracy and the ability to make independent decisions within the limits of our processes\. Significant independent judgment is used, but some direct guidance received from supervisor\.
**Key Job Elements** • Monitor, evaluate, adjust & review min safety stock levels to ensure they are set appropriately for business demands;
• Analyze top monthly MISSES to Customers;
• Work with Planners to ensure any revised MinSS levels are non\-issues with Suppliers;
• Analyze contract maintenance agreements maintained by Field Warehouses for appropriate stocking levels for materials based on historical warranty failure rates;
• Monitor Field Warehouse inventory levels and make necessary adjustments;
• Manage and maintain stocking levels for warranty protective spares inventory;
• Manage audit process & ensure all Supplier/Customer inventories needing to be reconciled are done so in a timely manner with the appropriate signatures;
• Ensure all proper documentation on Supplier/Customer Audits is received & filed;
• Report monthly on cycle count adjustments made in SAP due to Supplier/Customer Consigned Inventory reconciliations & report on Root Cause Analysis;
• Manage IDA monthly required counts for Aftermarket;
• Optimize inventory & service levels to avoid stock out/part shortages and meet targeted business thresholds;
• Develop & set inventory stocking policies that are aligned across the network;
• Review MOQ’s for most cost economical qtys & work with Planners/Purchasing/Commercial Team to set those qtys appropriately
• Develop, manage & maintain best practices governing global strategic inventory mgmt;
• Develop reporting that facilitates review of inventory stocking levels with latest forecasts;
• IDA Monthly count completion metrics;
• Quarterly Consignment Count completion metrics\.
• Demonstrate leadership while initiating & integrating cross\-functional teamwork
• Provide fact based, accurate analysis, and recommendations to support inventory and cash flow mgmt\. decisions at Senior Mgmt level
• Actively promote safe practices in all aspects of daily functions
• Perform all duties in accordance to Our Values in Action, Caterpillar's Code of Conduct\.
**Education / Training** • B\.A\./B\.S\. degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience\.
**Qualifications and Experience** • 1 – 3 years of supply chain experience;
• Analytical ability were problems are complex;
• Demonstrated understanding of inventory analysis and planning and other supply chain management practices;
• Medium level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others;
• Well developed oral and written communications skills;
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines;
• Experience in inventory control and SAP\.
Preferred:
• Knowledge of manufacturing operations and supply chain;
• Product knowledge of locomotives and their components;
• Understanding of Supply Chain principles and Distributed Requirements Planning \(DRP\)\.
