JOB DESCRIPTIONLEAD TEACHER / ECEAP / MANCHESTERPlan and implement Head Start/ECEAP child development and family services in partnership and coordination with the site Direct Services Team and families, promoting positive relationships at all times. Plan and implement preschool curriculum and family related activities and programming, emphasizing social services to families and parent activities.JOB FUNCTIONS1. Plan and deliver a developmentally appropriate early childhood curriculum in the preschool classrooms that integrates all aspects of program priorities, incorporates best developmentally appropriate practices, and assures an optimum learning environment for young children.2. Ensure that all children are making progress toward meeting or exceeding OESD 114 Head Start/ECEAP/Early Head Start School Readiness Goals.3. Abide by the Head Start/ECEAP/Early Head Start Standards of Conduct Agreement.4. Recruit, enroll and orient ECEAP and or Head Start families at assigned sites or site and assist as needed in the overall program.5. Work in partnership with parents and staff in planning and implementing child, center and parent enrichment activities.6. Collaborate with school district staff to support children with special needs.7. Supervise, train and support assistants, classroom volunteers, and temporary support staff.8. Perform developmental screenings and maintain a healthy, safe and developmentally appropriate program.9. Encourage, support and provide opportunities for parent involvement and leadership in the classroom and community.10. Develop Family Partnership Agreements with families to assist them in identifying strengths, setting goals and addressing family concerns.JOB REQUIREMENTS1. Baccalaureate or advanced degree in early childhood education. OR A baccalaureate or advanced degree and coursework equivalent to a major relating to early childhood education. OR An associate degree or higher with the equivalent of 30 college quarter credits in early childhood education. These 30 credits may be included in the degree or in addition to the degree. OR A valid WA State Teaching Certificate with an endorsement in Early Childhood Education (Pre-K-Grade 3) or Early Childhood Special Education. OR An associate degree in early childhood education. OR A current CDA and evidence of working on an associate degree with an emphasis in early childhood education (or equivalent) to be completed within three years and a minimum of two years working in a preschool setting.2. Experience working with families in a Human Services related position preferred3. Two years experience working in a pre-school or kindergarten.4. Knowledge of local community resources and experience with referring to community resources.5. Experience working with low income families, diverse cultures, and ethnic backgrounds.6. Experience working as a team in providing services.7. Experience working with children with disabilities preferred.8. Prior Head Start/ECEAP experience or former Head Start/ECEAP parent preferred.9. Supervisory and/or adult education experience preferred.EXPECTED QUALIFICATIONS1. Positive human relations, public relations and interpersonal skills.2. Ability to follow instructions.3. Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills.4. Experience using email, word processing, and data entry programs.5. Ability to maintain program confidentiality policies.6.
