You will make a big impact in the work that you do as an Institutional Participation Coordinator (IPC). Beyond the content in the library itself, we reach millions of users around the world today through our network of nearly 10,000 universities, colleges, government and other institutions and libraries in 167 countries that you will have contact with. In 2013, significant accesses to content in the library are on track to exceed 500 million. We have recently launched a new offering that provides limited free reading access to everyone worldwide that is adding more than 100,000 new users each month, as well as the ability for individuals to get their own JPASS—direct access to the archive.

What you will do:
The IPC is part of the team that manages the outreach and relationship management activities for the JSTOR platform (www.jstor.org), including the JSTOR Archive Collections, the Current Scholarship Program (CSP), Books at JSTOR, and Primary Sources, as well as the Portico preservation services (www.portico.org) for the Mid-West Region. This IPC will work in combination with the Outreach Associate and the Director, Institutional Participation and Strategic Partnerships, for that region to meet the revenue and participation goals of the organization.

The primary responsibilities of the Institutional Participation Coordinator are:

• Supporting the outreach activities of the Director, Institutional Participation & Strategic Partnerships, in the region, including identifying new outreach opportunities and executing retention and renewal strategies
• Managing the day-to-day interactions, including outreach and post-outreach activities, with institutions in the region; this includes educating new participants about JSTOR and Portico’s mission, researching participant needs, and assisting with the process of licensing new participants that are located within the region.

Some overnight travel (approximately 5%) will be required, including attending designated conferences, meetings, and events.

At the coordination of the Director, you will manage institutional participation interest within the region for all products and services and for all communities (e.g., higher education, secondary schools, corporate and for-profit, public libraries) by:
• Facilitating various communications to participants and potential participants, including new collection (product) announcements, specific and targeted campaigns, conference and other meeting announcements
• Responding to participation inquiries received from various sources (ITHAKA website, phone, email)
• Tracking contact information and "pipeline" status in CRM database
• Managing and continuously updating pipeline for accurate dashboard reporting
• Guiding interested institutions through the participation process
• Managing the processing of all License Agreements, Amendments and Riders
• Helping the Director to coordinate and prepare informational Forums for their region
• Outreach to Higher Ed institutions including GoToMeetings, webinars, and visits

The ideal person for this position will possess the following:
• Ability to work well as a team member; willingness to actively participate in team projects and share ideas
• Strong commitment and interest in ITHAKA’s mission and outreach efforts
• Strong email, verbal and written communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to perform with minimal supervision and to prioritize diverse work assignments
• Ability to perform well under pressure
• Fluency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution
