The Digital Sales Associate role (DSA) is an entry level sales position supporting the ABC Digital Ad Sales group. ABC Digital Ad Sales represents all ABC Entertainment and News properties across online, mobile, and tablet, including the Watch ABC App and full-episode player, ABC.com, ABC on Hulu, ABCNews.com, and GMA on Yahoo!
The primary purpose of the role is to be a liason between advertising agencies, Sales, Planning, Ad Operations/Account Management, and Billing to support the Digital Account Executives and Digital Sales Planners and ensure the highest degree of client service, campaign stewardship, and execution from post-sale through invoicing.
The DSA also works in close collaboration with the client/ad agency, planning, account management/ad operations, and billing. Examples of day-to-day tasks include gathering and inputting ad insertion orders, sending creative specs to clients, requesting 3rd party log in data, confirming billing contract details with clients and responding to any discrepancies that may arise, participating in campaign pacing calls, updating internal systems to reflect any campaign changes or optimizations, and assisting the Account Executives and Sales Planners with prospecting, proposal/plan creation, meeting prep, and other pre-sale activities.

Responsibilities
* Gather and input ad insertion orders from clients in internal ad system
* Directly liase with agency contacts to gather insertion orders, brand allocations, communicate and share creative specifications, and request 3rd party log-ins. Assists Account Management to track down late or missing creative or log-ins.
* Maintain and organize campaign-related paperwork including insertion order and billing contract terms. Acts as first point of contact for agency regarding resolution of any discrepancies
* Coordinate and collaborate internally to ensure successful launch, execution, and delivery of campaigns
* Establish strong internal (planning, integrated marketing, account management/ad operations) and external (agency) working relationships
* Post-campaign launch regularly monitor campaign and gather screenshots and assets for drafts recap deck.
* Provide excellent internal and external client service
* Active participant in AE team pacing calls to review campaigns. Responsible for updating the internal ad system to reflect flighting, optimization, or any other changes made during campaign and sending post-campaign pacing call report that recaps next steps.
* Working knowledge of media plan building and ability to create a strategy plan. Acts as back-up support for the Digital Sales Planner
* Assist Account Executive and Sales Planner with new business prospecting, client and competitive research, creation of client updates and sales proposals/presentations
* Attend team meetings, and participate in external meeting prep
* Be knowledgeable of all appropriate software related to our operation; Microsoft Office, SAP, etc.
* Flexibility to occasionally work outside normal business hours in the event of deadlines or projects
* Maintains general awarenesss of competitive ad sales practices and trends in digital advertising
Basic Qualifications
* BA/BS degree
* Related business experience, i.e. sales or administration experience or subject matter expertise a plus
* Must have strong communication, problem solving, and analytical skills.
* Must be highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and able to manage multiple tasks and details in a fast-paced environment
* Passionate about digital media and interested in digital advertising sales as a career
* Excellent oral and written communication skills, able to respond directly to clients via email or phone
* Strong analytical skills, comfortable working with numbers
* Responsible self-starter, highly curious, enjoys working as part of a team
* Some knowledge of ABC’s digital offerings in order to speak competently to ad agencies and clients about our content, sites, and digital advertising products
Preferred Qualifications
* 1-2 years of sales, digital, marketing, client service or administrative work experience
* Ideal candidate will have had prior media ad sales/digital internship and/or other related course-work experience
* Proficient in Outlook (create/edit emails and appointments), Word (create/edit documents), Excel (create/edit documents) and Power Point (create/edit presentations).
* Previous experience with Freewheel and/or other ad management systems, SAP
