This position will be responsible for developing electrical and electronic designs to support our existing customers and ensuring that engineering documentation is accurate and updated in a timely manner to support North American operations.

II. Key Responsibilities
* Performs electrical/electronic design, detailing and problem solving.
* Completes design documentation with minimal errors including bill of materials, specification sheets, modification kits, schematics, layouts, point-to-point diagrams, harness diagrams, assembly drawings and project files.
* Interfaces with operations to identify and correct bill of material and drawing errors.
* Provides quick response to production requests, fast tracks engineering change notices, and ensures smooth production implementation.
* Verifies new configurations prior to release to production.
* Specifies and selects vendor components.
* Applies process knowledge to influence design.
* Exhibits an exceptional degree of ingenuity, creativity, and resourcefulness.
* Communicates effectively and arbitrates engineering and application requirements with the design team.
* Analyzes risk areas of designs, plans mitigation, and publishes assessments to stakeholders.
* Plans design execution and schedules, communicating with stakeholders for feedback.

* Minimum of a 2 year associate’s degree in electrical or electronics technology or equivalent* Demonstrated competency in design and use of engineering system tools
* Understanding of electrical and electronic design best practices
* Experience with electrical and/or electronics design
* Demonstrated proficiency with CAD packages, such as AutoCAD
* Experience with PCB design and layouts a plus
* Demonstrated proficiency with design packages Cadence or Mentor a plus
* Willingness to increase knowledge through continuous education
* Experience with engineering change order processes a plus
* Understanding of manufacturing and production processes a plus
* Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
* Mechanical and electrical aptitude
* Safety and regulatory compliance knowledge, e.g. NEC, UL, CSA, NFPA, CE, OIML, CENAM, MC, US W&M a plus
