The data team's mission is to elevate and protect data as a corporate asset, leverage data as a business driver as well as explore the potential unlocked by big data. Its role is also to support The Economist current businesses, mainly circulation and media, as

well as explore new opportunities.

We are currently seeking an Insights Associate who will work with the Director of Insights and the rest of data team. The successful candidate will be based in New York and be expected to provide ongoing analysis, insights and recommendations to various teams.

Accountabilities:

**In the role you would be expected to:**

* Create automated reports and dashboards leveraging several different digital data sets to communicate the performance and benchmarking of digital properties
* Provide ongoing analysis, insights and recommendations to various teams utilizing data, research and best practices from websites, mobile websites and other digital media to improve performance against digital goals and objectives
* Generate regular campaign reports to drive on-going improvements while the campaign is in-flight as well as comprehensive wrap up reports that indicate level of success, learnings and recommendations
* Create ad hoc reports and analysis as required in a timely manner
* Work with various teams to ensure accurate tagging for new site releases as well as continuously debug, optimize, and enhance existing implementation. Help identify gaps in the data capture strategy(tools, server calls, automation, parameter tracking, etc.) and collaboratively implement enhancements
* Educate and train internal users on how to use analytics tools and understand data and reports
* Help document and educate other teams on the digital tracking capabilities, reports and processes
* Monitor the competitive environment, as needed, to provide updates on key competitors; flag and analyze the performance of new entrants

Experience, skills and professional attributes:

***To succeed in the role you must have:***

* Experience in web analytics working with standard clickstream analysis tools
* Working knowledge of Adobe (Omniture), Flurry
* Knowledge of Microsoft Excel (e.g., spreadsheet formatting, pivot tables, graphs, vlookups) required
* Strong ability to translate, communicate and distill statistics and metrics into a digestible, actionable framework
* Ability to conceive projects and execute based on open business/analysis questions with limited direction
* Able to work with large sets of data from a variety of sources

* Able to manage multiple priorities in an ever changing environment and meet deadlines
