CONNECTICUT COLLEGE seeks an energetic and analytical individual to oversee the research and prospect management team. Reporting to the Director of Major Gifts, the Senior Officer will prioritize and manage the work of the research team, work to expand the number of alumni and parent prospects, compile and analyze constituent data, monitor development pipeline movement and progress (with a particular emphasis on presidential prospects) optimizing in-house reporting systems and fundraising tools and develop and maintain innovative prospect management solutions to support fundraising success. The Senior Research and Prospect Management Officer will hire, supervise and train staff; conduct research on new prospects and assess/adjust the ratings of existing prospects to support fundraising efforts; oversee management of the President's top fundraising prospects, in coordination with the Director of Major Gifts; develop and maintain reports and tools; regularly meet with assigned major gift officer(s) to discuss their prospect pools and offer suggestions for helping the officer(s) move their top prospects through the development cycle; write and ensure that high quality briefing documents, prospect profiles and summaries are produced; regularly analyze the major gift prospect pool and share data on fundraising progress and activity across groups of constituents. In addition, s/he will provide regular reports (including, but not limited to, semi-annual prospect pool summaries, cultivation trends, needs analysis, pipeline reports and other forecasts); participate in the development and implementation of strategic metrics and supporting the use of metric models to document progress towards fundraising goals; audit current prospect management systems and provide effective solutions to improve prospect management processes. Bachelor's degree with 2 years of relevant experience or Associate's degree with 4 years of relevant experience required. S/he must possess strong oral and written communications skills; superior attention to detail and analytical ability to extract strategic information; strong interpersonal skills; high integrity needed to handle confidential information; ability to work well under deadlines and juggle multiple projects; ability to motivate colleagues to work with all staff within College Advancement and other departments campus wide and be able to build and sustain key relationships with donors, faculty and staff.Thorough applicant credentialing, including criminal records check will be conducted on the selected applicant.
