Job Description
**_Summary_:**
The RN-Graduate provides direct nursing care within scope of practice and in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
The ED Nurse Residency Program is a 5-6 month comprehensive orientation comprised of both didactic and clinical experiences. This program utilizes the Emergency Nurses Associate Orientation on-line program which combines modules and testing in a proctored classroom environment. Upon completion the new nurse will be provided a mentor to facilitate growth and stability in the new role as an Emergency Room Nurse.
Upon acceptance to the program interns will be required to commit to 2.5 years of full-time employment.
***Responsibilities***:
* Assists with implementation and monitoring of patient care plans. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
* Collaborates with preceptor to coordinate all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
* Assists with documentation and implementation of physician and nursing orders.
* Assists with assessing and coordinating patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
* Displays ability to perform unit-specific skills based on unit competency validation process and department-required certifications, to be required within department scope.
* Demonstrates personal commitment to the organization's core values and nursing mission, vision, and philosophy through active involvement in the quality improvement process.
**_Education & Experience:_**
* One year of healthcare experience preferred.
* Graduate from an Associate's, Bachelor's or hospital based nursing program by date of hire required.
**_Licenses & Certifications:_**
* Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification required. Only current American Heart Association BLS/HCP, or the equivalent American Red Cross (ARC), CPR for Professional Rescuers, card validated training will be accepted upon hire.
* Graduate Nurse License Required, Must pass boards within four (4) months of assuming RN-Graduate role.
