JOB SUMMARY

The Business Analyst SWHP Sr is responsible for analyzing clinical and financial performance, developing cost containment and care delivery strategies and processes. Works effectively as a key team member and independently, this is a highly visible role where your exceptional business intelligence to all areas of our company will help improve efficiency and optimize operations.

LOCATIONS: **Scott & White Health Plan; Temple, TX**

WHAT IS EXPECTED (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)

Leverages in-depth knowledge of healthcare business principals, statistical analysis concepts, and healthcare/health plan data to support critical business functions and needs

Develops summary, detail and dashboard reports and management summaries which present data findings in a professional, concise and readable format appropriate for content and audience

Participate in gaining consensus on guidelines and metric definitions

Performs consistent quality review of data and report results

Documentation of report processes and logic applied in reporting

Develops cost of care model development and recommendations to support efficiency and cost savings

Creates partnerships with internal resources and leaders to drive the adoption of data-driven decision-making.

Develop analytical models to estimate the impact of different scenarios, assisting in the business decision making process

Analyzes findings and provides actionable insights and recommendations based on analysis and drilldown

Works with all levels of staff including senior management to develop Business Requirements Document (BRDs)

Tracks industry standards and benchmarks

Assists functional management teams throughout the company to understand the power and value of an analytical approach to decision-making, and provide them with the insights that contribute to the strategic goals of the organization

Provides explanations, interpretations, and recommendations for reporting results as needed

Functions independently with a minimum of supervision, taking full ownership of key analytical projects

Proactively engages with customers to assess existing and upcoming business needs and maintain regular communication to update customers on progress made on projects

Performs other position appropriate duties as required in a competent, professional and courteous manner

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

**5+ years of experience

Expert proficiency in Excel and SQL is required

Ability to work through complex business problems and partner with internal clients with a consultative approach

Strong analytical/modeling skills with ability to convert raw data into actionable business insights

Ability to apply understanding of healthcare industry trends and their drivers

Ability to work in a dynamic setting and work well under pressure is essential

Intermediate-to-advanced knowledge (including modeling techniques) of Statistics is preferred

Lean Six Sigma experience preferred**
