The role holder is responsible to supporting the Head of Core Products on the strategic implementation of the overall CMB Core Product Management based on the agreed product strategy for lending products (e.g. Commercial Lending Products: Overdraft, Packaged lending products, Term loans, Business cards and Commercial Finance Products: Commercial Real Estate, Commercial Mortgages, Leasing, Structure Finance, Agribusiness…etc.) aligned to GCMB propositions, segmentation and participation models.

Lead Global CMB Sales Suitability program implementation in North America CMB including development and management of North America Quality Assurance team. In addition, coordinate Regional Conduct Risk Implementation, including tracking of activities and development and distribution of country/Regional level Conduct MI.

Anticipate future market conditions in a changing context (incl. pricing, risk, regulatory and customer insight), drive product performance against leading industry standards, maintain control and visibility throughout markets and segments, and identify new opportunities for driving returns on investments by increasing scale.

The role holder will actively engage with CMB Business, Finance, Compliance, Service Delivery, Change Delivery and other product providers and supports to ensure alignment, standardization and optimisation of the Core Products /Portfolios offerings. S/he will also work with the Head of Core Products to interface with marketing e.g. deliver customer insight projects to support development of overall product strategy.

Impact on the Business

CMB Product Management

* Support the Head of Core Products to drive the delivery of CMB Core Products strategy and related revenue growth [ ]%,YoY. Supporting the design and implement the CMB product participation strategy
* Prepare business papers and briefings to support the execution of Core Product Strategy. Prioritize existing/new product development activities
* Review product portfolio and review product offering alignment by segment and market intelligence
* Provide business case for investment prioritization
* Establish business reporting, performance tracking & risk management metrics / dashboards to provide management visibility and inform business decisions
* Provide product and technical knowledge, to advise and guide product training, and deploy pricing and portfolio analytics tools supporting the CMB model
* Responsible for Core Products AOP planning and budget process; gain agreement and buy-in from stakeholders to sales targets and product initiatives / projects and marketing campaigns.

Customers / Stakeholders

* Work with CMB Business, related Product Partners and related Functions to deliver effective CMB Core Product Strategy.
* Provide guidance and direction to CMB Business, in the evaluation of product strategy (aligned to proposition / segment strategy).
* Engage key stakeholders (Credit &Risk, Finance, Group Cards etc.) to develop portfolio analytics and risk management framework, governance and pricing initiatives.
* Be the CMB Core Product focal point to assist segments in the development of sales initiatives and sales collateral to improve product sales / market share
* Establish & foster relationships with other departments responsible for delivering the product proposition – e.g. Segments, IT, channels, Operations, Change Delivery, etc.

* Implement agreed governance structure to ensure delivery of diverse work streams. Maintain and observe HSBC control standards, implement and observe Group Compliance Policy, including the timely implementation of recommendations made by internal/external auditors and external regulators.

Major Challenges

One of the key strategic aims of the Global CMB TBM is to drive consistency in our business and standardise the way CMB operates to support our evolution into a global business. This objective extends to the way CMB builds, manages and distributes products to its customers.

The Senior Core Product Manager will be responsible for implementation of the mentioned products growth plans, with appropriate risk management, and ensuring alignment to GCMB propositions, segmentation and participation strategies.

The role holder will support Head of Core Products in implementing the framework for the of review all mentioned products / portfolios (as part of a USD [ ]M CMB asset portfolio), evaluating against defined performance metrics, formulating product and business strategy, as well as structuring initiatives and recommendations to drive revenue growth.

S/he will be responsible for product management, including:

* Product governance and product oversight.
* Deployment of a consistent risk management framework for all mentioned products, maximising value (revenue / RORWA) and minimising risk / cost; in conjunction with key business stakeholders.
* Implementation of a consistent Target Operating Model (TOM), as well as the development of business tracking / performance metrics e.g., portfolio analytics, pricing tools etc.
* Overall challenges include growing revenue and profitability in a changing environment.

Role Context

The jobholder will be required to support the Head of Core Products in implementing new global strategy for the mentioned products, supporting CMB portfolio analytics and risk management with:

The jobholder works under the guidance of the Head of Core Products, but it is expected that he/she exercises initiative and independent judgment, initiating and completing work in accordance with overall CMB Business Strategy / MTO with minimal supervision.
The jobholder is empowered to review and make proposals to Head of Core Products on;
prioritization of product pricing projects / activities and review business cases
review product pricing strategy and portfolio analytics with countries/regions and products owners
influence product rationalization against CMB participation Model and the 5-filters
review product strategy ensuring alignment to segment / proposition, with sufficient market intelligence
give guidance for investment prioritization of the global CMB systems order book (relating to pricing / billing)
approval of external and internal communications (relating to product pricing etc.).

S/he will chair meetings with all internal stakeholders, providing guidance on product pricing strategy & governance.

Essential

* Graduate degree in a relevant discipline preferred
* Broad commercial banking experience, with at least 2-3 years in a product management role
* Knowledge of Marketing, Credit & risk policy and Regulated sales environment
* Effective negotiation skills, with the ability to influence decision making and decision makers
