Practice team members bring direct experience and knowledge to our practices, enabling the firm to meet its clients’ unique recruitment needs. Spencer Stuart’s Global Knowledge Services Center is a centralized research team of information professionals and researchers supporting all of the major industry and functional Practices. The center operates in three main hubs: Chicago, London and Amsterdam. Position Summary The Practice Analyst is a proactive research position that is dedicated to our Human Resources Practice groups and focuses on special projects that expand and enhance knowledge across the Practice. The Practice Analyst is a central Practice resource interfacing with key team members within the Practice who focus on external search assignments, as well as all corporate teams in the firm that support internal operations. This individual must prioritize research and lead the detailed analysis required for key projects in which the end product may be used for internal process improvement or external/client-facing documentation. These projects primarily focus on improving the content and quality of our database, supporting intellectual capital development, improving business development documentation and assisting with general Practice administration. The Practice Analyst is responsible for researching information that is either publicly available or within our internal database regarding executives, companies and industries in support of these special projects. This is a full time role located in the Chicago or Stamford Spencer Stuart office. Key Relationships Reports to: Practice Leader Practice Knowledge Manager Other key relationships: Practice Leaders and Practice Members (Consultants, APLs and Associates) Other Practice Analysts Research Analysts Global Information Services Other Global Knowledge Managers Data Quality (Client Database Team and/or developers, M&A) Major Responsibilities Work closely with the Knowledge Managers and the Practice to develop proactive research on key executives, companies and industry sectors. Provide detailed analysis in support of special projects and general Practice administration, as well as external business development and intellectual capital efforts. Through research via the internet and specialized business information databases, populate our proprietary database, QuestNT, with essential data on executives and companies as identified and prioritized by the Practice. Build practice specific research tools and resources combining our proprietary database, QuestNT, with external research and information. Review industry literature for new information relating to executives and organizations. Update the database with key data points and communicate relevant detail to Practice members regarding potential business development opportunities, search prospects/candidates and placements. Utilize various Microsoft Office applications, business information databases, the Practice intranet (PracticePoint) and QuestNT to present research to the firm. Assist in improving the visibility of PracticePoint by enhancing its layout, functionality and content. Manage and update information important to the Practice (i.e. relevant company, executive and industry lists/reports). As a PracticePoint content expert and central point of contact for the Practice, utilize the intranet to respond to research requests, directing Practice members to PracticePoint when appropriate and acting as a champion of the intranet resource. CANDIDATE SPECIFICATION: KEY SELECTION CRITERIA Ideal Experience Strong research skills : Experience collecting and organizing information from databases and/or internet resources. Ability to analyze and synthesize data into other formats. Computer literate : Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office platform (emphasis on Word, Excel and PowerPoint applications) Service industry expertise : Experience working in a consulting environment and/or a role involving significant client service and the management of multiple projects toward tight timelines in an environment where competing demands are the norm.
