This position serves as a Supervisory Community Health Nurse in charge of the Public Health Nursing Program at Pawnee Indian Health Center. This position reports to the Chief Executive Officer of the facility.

* Directs the public health nursing program, health education, employee health activities, prevention of disease and promotes the maintenance of health for individuals, families, and community.
* Assesses individual and family health needs.
* Coordinates and plans health care services to provide nursing care to individuals and families throughout health/illness continuum in home and clinic.
* Participates in quality improvement evaluation and development.

**BASIC REQUIREMENTS:**Education: Baccalaureate Degree or higher degree from a professional nursing program approved by the legally designated State accrediting agency at the time the program was completed by the applicant.
Registration: Applicants must have active, current registration as a professional nurse in a State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
**ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:**GS-12: One year of experience providing professional nursing services in either a clinic, home health, and/or school setting and have experience planning community health activities.
**SELECTIVE FACTOR**: In addition to the qualification requirements for the OPM and IHS Excepted Service Qualifications described above, to be rated basically qualified for this position, candidates must possess current, valid, active, unrestricted license as a professional nurse from any State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. New graduates must also possess this licensure as indicated with no grace period allowed.
**SUPERVISORY ABILITIES**: This is a supervisory position and candidates, in addition to the professional qualifications listed, must have demonstrated in their work experience or training, that they possess, or have potential to develop, the qualities of successful supervision, as required for this position.
