The QA Tester II is responsible for loading requirements, writing test cases and linking test cases to test requirements. They are also responsible for executing test cases and scripts assigned to them by the QA Lead or Supervisor. QA Tester II will perform defect creation of failed test cases and root cause research of failed test cases. The QA Tester II may be required to assist in the gathering of requirements and provide requirements analysis. The QA Tester II may also work with development resources to triage defects they find, and retest defects. The QA Tester II may need to provide back up to the QA Test Lead regarding meeting facilitation and reporting as needed.

Load test cases into Quality Center Link test cases to requirements Create test cases based on business and technical requirements Execute test cases Research defects, perform root cause analysis and communicate findings to test team and QA Lead Attend requirements meetings as needed Facilitate meetings and provide project status reports if Test Lead is not available. Assist in the mentoring of QA Tester I Act as QA Lead for small sized projects as needed Familiarity with Software Development Life Cycle or Project Development Life Cycle preferred Assist test lead in test plan and/or test estimate document creation Provide back up to the QA Test Lead regarding meeting facilitation and reporting as needed

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS: Demonstrated competence with MS Windows operating systems required Basic proficiency in MS Office products Familiarity with MS Windows operating systems Familiarity with industry standard testing tools such as HP Quality Center, IBM Rational Quality Manager, Bugzilla, etc. Familiarity with software testing concepts: regression testing, negative testing, White Box v. Black Box, functional v. non-functional testing, defect reporting standards, reproducibility of results Knowledge of creation and interpretation of SQL queries is preferred.

DATA VALIDATION SKILLS (IF REQUIRED FOR CURRENT OPENING):
Knowledge of Informatica Power Center 8.5 and above required Understanding of data warehouse concepts required Experience with source to target mappings and business rules required Understanding of ETL (Extract Transform Load) process, transformation logic required Advanced SQL skills required

BUSINESS/FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

- Three (3) year work experience in Software Development and/or Quality Assurance and Testing.
- Five (5) years work experience in Software Development and/or Quality Assurance and Testing is preferred.
