About the Business Line
**Building Engineering**
We deliver creative solutions for building projects for industry, government, commercial and leisure sectors. Our building engineering specialists have expertise in structural and building services engineering, fire engineering, acoustics, facades and seismic design. We embed sustainability principles in every design.
Job Summary
Manage design and construction administration project(s) for Federal Government clients. Must be willing to travel to client sites in the mid-atlantic region as required or to supervise project progress. Successfully develops strategy, prepares proposals, negotiates contracts, and executes project(s). Acts as primary point of contact with client. Requires experience managing DOD/Homeland Security or similar US Federal Agency programs. Plans, directs, and supervises all operations included in moderately-sized projects with moderate risk, complexity, and financial impact. Manages and leads all technical, financial, and client satisfaction areas using consistent processes and tools. May include management of teams across business lines, in remote locations and/or management of subcontractors. Manages projects on a local to regional basis achieving quality outcomes, financial performance and client satisfaction.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in engineering
1. At least 5-7 years of progressively responsible experience supporting business development and design and construction projects or task orders. Experience shall include long-term technical assistance (LTTA) and/or STTA short-term in the field.
2. Familiarity with US Federal agency contracting requirements (FAR/ AIDAR) and basic administrative requirements for staffing (tech/ rate) and travel approvals. Familiarity with UFC requirements a plus.
3. Experience in implementing design quality assurance and quality control activities.
4. Experience in financial forecasting and managing subcontractors.
Leadership and Supervisory Experience:
1. At least 2 years of progressively responsible experience leading multidisciplinary teams on business development (e.g., project proposals) and project deliverables (e.g., technical reports and studies).
2. Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated team-building ability and internal/ external networking skills.
3. Experience in direct supervision of administrative and junior technical staff.
Other Qualifications:
1. Ability to interact regularly and professionally with senior management and technical staff in other offices on business development and project execution issues.
2. Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities, and solid organizational skills with a strong track record in meeting deliverables and deadlines.
3. Internally-driven, self-starter, team orientation.
Preferred Qualifications
* Licensed and/or Registered as a Professional Engineer a plus.
* PMP Certification a plus.
* Security Clearance a plus.
