**Position Summary:**

As a Senior Electrical Engineer at Sensata you will be part of a project team and be responsible for product design and development tasks including electrical schematics, component selection with design/cost trade\-off analysis, proto builds, design verification testing, and preparation of production documentation and fixture design\. You will be responsible for the creation of project development costs, product unit costs, project task scheduling with critical path management\. You will be expected to have the skills, knowledge and drive to create new and novel solutions to the challenges we face daily\. In some instances, we may utilize your leadership skills to direct the activities of other engineers as a project lead, and at other times you’ll be challenged as an individual technical contributor\. We value collaboration among the various engineering and production disciplines so you must be comfortable in cross functional team environments, we work together to solve problems\.

**Primary Responsibilities:**

+ Contribute to the success of assigned projects through technical innovation and execution of assigned electrical design tasks\.

+ Participate in architecture definition, project planning, and electrical specification, scheduling and establishing cost targets to meet project goals\.

+ Provide leadership by directing the activities of others along with ensuring project technical content and execution when requested\.

+ Commitment to follow established group design and documentation processes and standards\.

+ Actively seek peer input during design reviews and provide constructive feedback when reviewing the designs of others\.

+ Guide and mentor less experienced engineers\.

**Job Requirements:**

+ BS or higher degree in Electrical Engineering or other electronics\-based scientific degree\.

+ Minimum of 3 years \(8 years preferred\) directly applicable experience with desired background in some or all of the following areas:

+ Digital circuit design with PCB fabrication, PCB assembly, and PCB/A processes and vendor management

+ Embedded motion control hardware design and development\.

+ Analog circuit design\.

+ Experience with sensor interface and signal conditioning\.

+ Embedded microprocessor and microcontroller design\.

+ Development of test plans for design verification, margin analysis, and life\.

+ Ability to independently complete complex electrical designs\.

+ Use of CAD and embedded development tools\.

+ Industrial electronic design experience, familiarity with testing certifications \(SAE, ISO, CE, UL, etc\.\)\.

+ Mentor Graphics DX Designer \(preferable\) or other schematic capture software is a plus\.

+ Knowledge of CAN \(including CANopen, J1939\) is a plus\.

+ C/C\+\+ embedded programmingwithout the use of embedded operating systems\.

+ Understanding of agency requirements to meet CE, UL, and CSA standards\.

+ Strong knowledge of Electrical Engineering principles, processes and tools\.

+ Hands on attitude with the ability to operate standard soldering and electrical test equipment\.

+ Strong project management skills; including estimate timelines, costs, deliverables, documentation, lab work, and development time vs\. product cost trade\-offs\.

+ Possess excellent inter\-personal skills and a high level of communication skills\.

+ Travel requirement: Occasional to work with customers\.
