Truthfully? I wasn’t a fan. Obviously, Felicity can do anything she wants. She’s the Queen of DCTV and Emily Bett Rickards would be amazing, but I don’t think the character needs it. I think Felicity fulfills a vital role and sends an important message:
You don’t need a mask to be a hero.
I love the uniqueness of Felicity Smoak. We have Canaries coming out our ears, but there’s only ONE Felicity Smoak. There is only one person who can do what she can do, both technically and emotionally. She is the heart of Arrow. She protects the team. She helps save the city every night. She harnesses Oliver’s light. She is the female lead of Arrow. Felicity doesn’t need to be BC to be any of those things. She’s perfection as is.
And I am THRILLED the writers understand that.
