**Responsibilities**

**MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES**

+ Assists in directing activities and provides supervision of Traffic functions for all distribution facilities as directed by the Traffic Manager.

+ Directly supervises traffic associates and related activities for the Gardner facility.

+ Assists in developing and implementing both short and long term traffic strategies based on analyses of essential conditions such as type and characteristics of product, mode trends, changing market conditions, as well as customer programs and requirements.

+ Works with Traffic Manager in conjunction with Corporate Traffic to evaluate/secure best pricing options for prepaid carriers.

+ Assists Managers of Distribution to ensure DOT/HAZ MAT shipping documentation is compliant and accurate.

+ Assist in development of cross functional process improvements.

+ Oversees order processing by ensuring all steps relating to routing, shipment creation, documentation and shipment completion are accurate and timely.

+ Manage daily generation of shipping schedule for next business day processing; including assignment of carriers and coordination of delivery appointments.

+ Assists in ensuring that customer requirements are followed to avoid or minimize charge backs for noncompliance. Assists as needed working with Credit department in identifying and resolving short paid invoices resulting from any errors.

+ Monitors reports to ensure flow of orders through the process to allow for on-time shipments. If delays are identified, work with Customer Service as needed to expedite order processing. Works with carriers to ensure service and quality meets/exceeds Coleman’s standards.

+ Works with other departments to facilitate resolution of carrier service issues.

+ Ensures month/qtr/year end shipping meets the requirements of the business.

+ Develop, use, and report key metrics to timely monitor costs/services.

+ All other tasks as assigned by management.

**Qualifications**

**KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS**

+ 5 7 Years ofTraffic/ Shipping office experience in a fast paced environment

+ Must have strong working knowledge of Traffic, Logistics, Freight Contracts and Carrier Freight Claims, NMFC, and Transportation Industry terminology

+ Must have the ability to handle multiple priorities effectively

+ Previous supervisory experience preferred

+ Ability to support the business during off hours, holidays and weekends

+ Must be able to professionally communicate with all levels of the business

+ Detail oriented

+ Logical decision making and problem solving skills in a fast paced environment

+ Proficiency in MS Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook) required, SAP experience preferred.

+ Ability to travel as needed
