Prolific singer-songwriter Sarantos, releases his punctual monthly single and supporting video. This time around the chosen them is death and the song is entitled, “What If I Never See You Again”. Questions that run through someone’s mind as they deal with the death of a parent are too numerous to list. Sarantos has experienced this state-of-being firsthand, since his father passed away after a long, hard fought battle with lung cancer.
Through the song, Sarantos wanted to capture the essence of this frustration, exasperation and the enduring sleepless nights. While the video also takes a close look at the frustration and emotion that Sarantos himself experienced after his dad passed away. “This is quite a different music video for me,” says Sarantos. “The footage is realistic, and the motion and effects are purposeful so that the viewer understands the sense of frustration. It has the look and feel of an amateur video. Maybe some people are fortunate enough to not have experienced the death of a parent yet. However, the video tells the inside story. It is never-ending as the turmoil and disheartened attitude perseveres onscreen.”
Sarantos is a principled man, he works within an industry that he chooses to dismiss, being independent, and honestly can you blame him? Personally I admire him for his honesty. He does his thing and works hard to be where he is. There is nothing synthetic or false about Sarantos. He’s a straight shooter, believes in himself, and love him or hate him, you have to admire him for that.

Sarantos produces his music and videos without the privileges of a major label artist. He writes and plugs away on his guitar night after night and composes tracks that will be remembered for years to come. On top of that he is trying to change the world with his caring lyrics.
His latest offering “What If I Never See You Again”, offers a superb middle finger to the tons upon tons of manufactured bands and pop acts of today, and proves there’s still hope for the ‘bedroom’ musician who believes and invests in his talents, bringing something real to the table. The track is a grower in the best sense – a great melody, an abundant guitar solo, a touch of melancholy; all the Sarantos hallmarks are there in a slightly new and interesting package. It is somewhat laid back and rocking at the same time.
The effort here is much more focused start to end. This is largely accomplished by the terrific rhythm section that propels the track along. The bass is up in the mix with an invitingly warm character. The guitar lines sound familiar and inviting without being stale or going in circles. The percussion is sonorous and driving without being punishing. The soaring vocals in the chorus are probably the most powerful and significant Sarantos has ever done. In a nutshell, the entire atmosphere and sound of “What If I Never See You Again”, reminded me of British super-group Oasis, who in turn remind of the Beatles!
33% of any music-related sales profits from this song are going straight to The National Center For Fathering. The National Center for Fathering (Fathers.com) is a nonprofit educational organization that strives to improve the lives of children and establish a positive fathering and family legacy that will impact future generations by inspiring and equipping fathers and father figures to be actively engaged in the life of every child.
