Ice Chips Candy was featured on the ABC TV Show Shark Tank and caused a FRENZY with the sharks. This ALL NATURAL candy was developed when Charlotte Clary and Bev Vines-haines wanted to make a great tasting candy for thier 41 grandchildren (!!!) that their diabetic friends could enjoy as well. They knew Xylitol (natural sugar) was great for teeth and diabetics could enjoy it. They had tried different candies but could not find one with the zing and the burst of flavors they wanted. Something they could say was " Grannie Approved!" Ice Chips Candy® was born. Everyone they knew wanted the candy,begged to buy the candy and told their friends about the candy.
It wasn’t till later they read they couldn't make a hard Xylitol candy. But that didn't mean a lot to the grannies, by then they had already created one! One flavor followed another. It is healthy, safe for diabetics and the packaging was attractive.
I was not sure what to expect with these candies but I will that I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed them. The look like, well, ice chips! They are hard, yet chewable at the same time and they have quite a bit of flavor. They really do the trick when I need a little something sweet, when my mouth is dry, or I just feel the urge to chew on something but am not hungry. I don't like gum, so these are a great alternative for constantly reaching for sugary candies. I love that they come in a hard tin so I can easily slide a flavor in my purse. My kids love them as much as I do and I am thrilled that these candies do not do damage to their teeth!
Ice Chips Candy are available in the following flavors:
Berry Mix: Tart, tangy, and sweet; this flavor was my absolute favorite. They were so delicious and I had a hard time believing that there was no sugar in these babies!
Peppermint: I enjoy a mint after eating so these were great to have on hand. They are easily as tasty as any other mint that I would suck on, but sugar-free!
Licorice: You definitely have to be a black licorice lover to enjoy these ones - which I am not. If you are, you would probably love the bold flavor.
Cinnamon: I am also not a huge fan of cinnamon candies; however, my husband is and thoroughly enjoyed the heat in this variety.
Lemon: These are very delicious and really remind me of a high-quality sweetened lemonade. This is perfect if I feel the need for a refreshing candy!
Root Beer Float: My daughter loves Root Beer so I was a little surprised that she did not enjoy these. However, I thought the taste was spot on!
Buy it here: I will admit that I was a little shocked at the price at first; however, just two Ice Chips are very satisfying so the tins really do last a long time!
