It is no news that there are some lecturers in the Akwa Ibom State University that have not return to their normal duties after been granted permission and sponsored to study for their Post-graduation studies. The management of Akwa Ibom state university has expressed its displeasure over the attitude and has threatened to initiate a legal action against their families.
Prof. Sunday Peters who is the current Vice Chancellor of Akwa Ibom State University said so.
Prof. Peters said, “Many have refused to come back after the training; some are coming back in batches.
The school management also said that they will try possible means to get all fleeing lecturers repatriated. So, staffing Akwa Ibom university is not a problem; there are enough lecturers for now. We also have adjunct lecturers and those on sabbatical leave.
