NEW DELHI: A group of businessmen from Gujarat plan to launch a smartphone, called the ‘Smart Namo,’ a play on the Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi’s nickname among his youthful supporters. Aptly named Smart Namo, with NaMo standing for Narendra Modi and Next generation Android Mobile Odyssey the makers hope to get the CM’s permission to use his signature in all the NaMo branded smartphone.

“We are fans of Shri Narendra Modi, our forthcoming future leader of our great nation India, we are manufacturing latest Android handset dedicated to the ‘Iron Man’ of modern India. We are from land of Gujarat and in electronic smartphone business in China. NAMO stands for Narendra Modi and Next Generation Android Mobile Odyssey. Our product is our way of dedication & respect to our great nation leader. We will be launching NAMO Android handset with Shri Narendra Modi ‘signature edition’ ,for which process in under way !!! We will launch our handset very soon”, the official website for the device says.

Going by the specs available the smartphone is no pushover. It is expected to have a 5 inch IPS panel display with full HD (1920x 1080) pixels) resolution, 1.5 Ghz quad core processor, 2 GB RAM and 16/32 GB inbuilt memory and a 13 megapixel camera. The display also features Gorilla Glass 2 coating to keep it scratch resistant.

Sources say the smartphone also will be pre-loaded with apps and videos to highlight Brand Narendra Modi. The company has set up an assembly unit in Gandhinagar, Gujarat.
