What is a Prosthodontist?

According to the American College of Prosthodontists, a prosthodontist is a dentist who:

1. Specializes in the esthetic (cosmetic) restoration and replacement of teeth.

2. Receives three to four years of additional formal training after dental school.

3. Restores optimum appearance and function to your smile.

4. Becoming a prosthodontist requires an additional three years of postgraduate specialty training after obtaining a dental degree. This specialty education provides knowledge and skills beyond the training of general dentists and includes advanced level lectures, courses, clinical and laboratory experiences, patient care and scholarly research. Prosthodontists are trained to treat complex restorative cases, TMJ therapy, the placement and restoration of dental implants, as well as sleep apnea disorders. A Prosthodontist is the skilled architect who can restore optimal function and appearance to your smile. Prosthodontists are the only ADA recognized dental specialty under which the concentration of cosmetic/esthetic dentistry falls.

After completing his specialty training, Dr. Nawrocki relocated to Jacksonville, setting up his practice in Orange Park. He is dedicated to delivering the highest standards of care to his patients.

Dr. Nawrocki is very passionate about patient education and he and Dr. Richard Aguila co-host a weekly dental health and wellness segment called Dental Health Watch on First Coast Living on WTLV 12. The doctors further promote dental wellness in the community by providing free monthly patient education seminars to help patients understand the various dental treatment options available to them. Dr. Nawrocki and Dr. Aguila have also been certified as the exclusive providers of HYBRIDGE® in Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia. HYBRIDGE® is a patented dental implant supported fixed prosthesis that replaces up to 12 teeth in the upper or lower jaw in far less time and at far less expense than the traditional fixed implant prosthesis. The HYBRIDGE® treatment protocol they utilize has allowed them to improve the quality of life of many patients here in Northeast Florida.
