Listen as Celebrity Rehab star Bob Forrest takes us on an electrifying and harrowing ride through 1990s LA, drawing back the curtain on the debauchery of the underground rock scene and the young Hollywood crowd that made it their playground, in his new book, ‘Running With Monsters.” (In interview with Lee Callahan)

Bob Forrest is best known for conducting group therapy sessions with the most unruly stars on Dr. Drew’s Celebrity Rehab, but long before his stint as a drug counselor at the Pasadena Recovery Center, Bob Forrest was a rising star in the Los Angeles indie rock scene. As the front man for Thelonious Monster, he received praise from rock critics branding him as a new Lou Reed hybrid, known as much for his soulful and pointed song writing as his drunken on-stage antics. As the band began their ascent to stardom, he quickly descended into darkness. Bob Forrest’s dependency on drugs and alcohol grew beyond his control and no amount of money, fame or notoriety could tame the monster within.
