Hello all,

The time has come to put the STI up for sale. I've been contemplating it for too long and it is time to move onto new things.

Prospective buyers: It is a long for sale ad, but here are a few top reasons why you should consider this STI:

Already experienced ringland failure (at 53k) and has a Rallispec Street Block with only 7k miles

All major maintenance items were done at engine rebuild (timing belt, seals, head rebuild, clutch, etc). See list below.

NO Rust on body or undercarriage: I flew to Las Vegas (9/12) to buy this car. I drove it for about 2 months during the winter of 2012/2013; otherwise it has been stored every winter since.

Well maintained (see mileage log)

NO mechanical issues, NO dash lights/CEL's, etc

Body is in great condition

Compression was checked last fall and the numbers were good (details below)

This STI has aftermarket fuel rails which means no GR stumble!

Car details: 2008 Subaru Impreza WRX STI

Color: Aspen White

Current Mileage: 60,xxx

Transmission: 6 speed manual

VIN: Available upon request

Title: Clean, no lien, in my possession and ready to be signed over to the new buyer.

Owners: I'm am the 3rd owner. First two owners were both in Las Vegas, NV. Car was stock and hadn't been modified when purchased.

Engine rebuild info:

My car sat for about a month (July 2013) while I researched the engine rebuild, because I wanted to make sure that I did the rebuild correctly the first time. I ended up buying a new shortblock from Rallispec because they have been a long-time, well trusted builder of Subaru shortblocks. They purchase brand new OEM shortblocks, tear down, and upgrade with the components that they have researched and tested. I also had Headwerks (the well trusted local machine shop) do a complete rebuild of the heads. So far, I have been very happy with the engine!

Who performed the work: I normally work with NF Performance, however they were very busy at the time and I was in a time crunch. I didn't trust myself to do the work. A friend of mine recommended Pat Doyle at DG Auto Repair and Service (check them out on FB: https://www.facebook.com/pages/DG-Au...35642676482140 ). Pat was previously a head mechanic at Morries Brooklyn Park Subaru and decided to leave and start his own business (DG Auto Repair and Service). I met with Pat and toured his shop before making the final decision. He shop was extremely clean, well-organized, and Pat was very friendly and helpful. Soon after, I dropped the car off at his shop (August 2013) for the tear down and rebuild. Pat was very communicative throughout the rebuild process, sent me photo updates, and even called ARP to double check the head stud torquing procedure they recommended. Overall, he did an excellent job and the new engine has been problem free since!

Rebuilding the heads: Pat recommended using Headwerks for the head refresh, as do many other locals. Headwerks completely torn down the heads, cleaned them up, machined, radius valve job, valve adjustment, etc. New OEM exhaust valves were installed per their recommendation.

List of items replaced/performed at time of engine rebuild (53,016):

Rallispec Street Standard Block (blueprint and receipt available upon request), stock compression: the block starts as a new OEM shortblock and upgraded with:

Cosworth forged pistons (4032) 99.5mm and rings

Rallispec HP connecting rods w/ ARP L19 bolts

King Racing XPG Gold bearing set

OEM crankshaft

Balanced to tolerance of 1/2g

Compression: I checked the compression when changing spark plugs at 55,859 (Spring 2014). I checked the pressure on each cylinder twice, and the numbers were as follows (test 1, test 2) in psi:

Cylinder 1: 127, 130

Cylinder 2: 145, 137

Cylinder 3: 135, 136

Cylinder 4: 150, 140

I also checked the compression again last Fall 2014 and the numbers were essentially the same.

Storage info: Stored for the last two winters in my garage. Always changed to 93 octane prior to storage and used fuel stabilizer. For first startup in Spring, I always pull the fuel injection fuse and crank it to build oil pressure prior to actually starting.

Oil analysis from Blackstone: Available on request.
