Today Sysopminds caters to a rapidly growing breed of new technology companions that adopt the cloud as a part of their enterprise processes, sometimes even to a huge benefit in the market.
How do you see the Cloud Services market in India?

Public cloud services revenue in India will reach $838 million by the end of 2015, an increase of almost 33 percent, or $206 million over 2014 revenue of $632 million , according to Gartner, Inc. In 2015, public cloud services revenue is driven by high rates of growth in key market segments, cloud infrastructure as a service (IaaS), cloud management and security services and cloud application infrastructure platform as a service (PaaS). Spending on IaaS will total $104.8 million in 2015, an increase of 38 percent over last year. Spending on cloud management/security and PaaS will both grow 35.4 percent to $56.7 and $84.6 million respectively during the same period.
Gartner predicts high rates of spending on cloud services in India to continue through 2018 when the market is expected to reach $1.9 billion.
Sysopminds is well poised to drive both Cloud Solution architecture services as projects and continuous revenue from Cloud Infrastructure Management. The new breed of small technology businessesare adapting to cloud on a large basis. With more than 4000 startups registering per month and add their growth plans, Indian Cloud Services environment has huge scope. As Amazon Web Services mention – this is a ‘new’ normal. Tech startups is the next big way of adaption of cloud services.

Tell us something about your service and service models.
Cloud management refers to monitoring and operating various aspects of cloud – operating systems, applications, data and services. Cloud management tools help cloud computing based resources to work in an optimal manner and interact with users and other service stakeholders.
Sysopminds offer cloud architecting, cloud management and cloud monitoring services to clients. The technologies involved are cloud architecture, cloud database, cloud operating system and cloud applications. We combine this knowledge with Infrastructure Technology- Information Library ( ITIL ) practices to ensure that the applications are monitored through standard IT support tools. The service levels are designed based on user needs and nature of application or database. We currently have partnership with Amazon, Microsoft and Google Cloud platforms.
DevOps is a software development method that emphasizes communication, collaboration (information sharing and web service usage), integration, automation, and measurement of cooperation between development team and IT support team. The method confirms the interdependence of software development, quality assurance, and IT operations, and aims to help an organization rapidly produce software products and services and to improve operations performance. Normally this falls more on operations, than development as this evolved more from IT Service Management standards.
We have established a separate team that focuses on development that can train and place people on development operations. For example, we have aligned with large IT service providers in the US – we support them on different models – on time and material basis, and on service level basis.
How is Sysopminds building delivery capabilities on cloud services?
Syospminds is an Amazon Web Services partner. We have tools, developed in house and skilled Level 1 and Level 2 consultants who, combined with the ITIL process, have the capability to support small and medium businesses. We mix and match competency with niche cloud and IT automation skills, bundled with rich IT infrastructure managed service expertise. We have three large IT service providers already working with us and two large customers who are on Amazon cloud. As more and more resources are needed, we also conduct training programs for existing support staff, which are redeployed, with readymade technical and client interfacing skills.
What are the opportunities in Devops space?
A recent study by CA technologies reveal that only 26% of Indian IT leaders have implemented. Main issues in implementation are security and compliance, lack of trained personal and budget constraints. More than half the companies have not identified devops as a separate budget expense. Main problem is re-training of existing IT support staff into handling devops Since Devops is more structured, adaptation of employees to processes is key for success.
This is exactly Sysopminds comes in. Sysopminds helps IT services organizations to retrain, and get people who are already trained to be deployed. IT support – using IT Service Management tools like Remedy or HP ITIL tools is now core to devops. So system integrators and IT support service providers, especially support for test and development infrastructure, needs to adapt this process which provides proactive IT support services than standard IT operations.
Why is devops more important than ever now?
About 53% of the Indian Enterprises, according a Gartner report, feel that the biggest driver for Devops is the need to improve application performance. The main challenge for Devops deployment is about the cost of training or adoption. Another need is to have faster, bug-free software deployment and support is another aspect of Devops. The main challenge is that about finding the right outsourcing partner. Sysopminds is committed to close this gap between supply and demand.
Another study shows that Devops is imperative when time to market for applications, as demanded by businesses is decreasing and the pressure is building on a steady basis. There is no scope for iterative procedure. Increasing e-commerce businesses are moving towards mobile applications. Recently Myntra announced that they are shutting their web application and moving to only mobile application. The reason that is cited is increased conversion rate with mobile applications.
When this shift is becoming imperative for other players in the market, anticipation of increased loads after mobile application launches is critical. Mobile successes will be compromised if the applications fail to perform due to increase load. Devops aims at assuring high quality results by removing constraints, leakages in efforts, rework etc., because time to market and market to value are so critical and the situations shift really fast. The need for speed at the same time accuracy is what makes Devops critical for e-commerce and m-commerce applications. So we see a big scope of IT Devops in the Indian context.
Devops in mobile application development is more of an inherent need than separate. There are couple of instances of Sysopminds IT infrastructure team working with mobile applications teams to deliver ad hoc work groups to deliver on application launches.
Sysopminds plans to expand in India first – especially in Chennai and Bangalore. There is lot of scope in these two areas that are our core focus, and we also have the first mover advantage in a niche space. We hope to double our revenues in the next two years.
