ITU Student Government Association (SGA) 2015 elections are now open! Seven students have been selected to run for the SGA’s four elected positions. Each candidate has submitted a bio and informational video as part of their campaign. Please check out their submitted materials and vote for whichever candidates you’d like to see as part of the SGA this year.
SGA Candidates: President
Position Responsibilities: Run SGA meetings, establish & monitor all agreements with the administration concerning SGA’s responsibility, and right to recommend and deliberate on all student issues concerning ITU, Act as the official spokesperson for the SGA, be the official contact for ITU Clubs, serve on one designated committee per trimester (Orientation, Graduation, etc.)
Mohan Nagineri
My name is Mohan Nagineni and I am in my 3rd Trimester in the MSSE program here at ITU. I am currently running for President of SGA. I am a very motivated individual who is always willing to help others. I have great leadership skills. I have worked as a president in my college back in India. I was also involved in organizing multiple events in my college and came up with solutions for a lot of student issues. I think I will be a great fit for this position as I have prior experience interacting with students / student body and also the management.
Tarang Desai
Hello ITUians, This is Tarang Desai, I am pursuing my master’s degree in Electrical Engineering in ITU. I was a part of SGA from last 2 trimesters, and now I am running for the President of SGA’s position. As your Student Government Association President,I plan to continue contributing much of my time to making this university and its students the best they can be. I hope to give my peers a greater voice in the constantly evolving ITU community, while ensuring they have the resource to do so.

Nikitha Kandukuri
My name is Nikitha Kandukuri, I’m pursing my Masters in Software Engineering, and this is my third trimester at ITU. I’m running as Vice President in the upcoming elections. Over the years ITU has come so far and accomplished so many great things and I would like to help ITU become more productive and welcoming environment for students and faculty alike. I am not afraid to voice my opinions or stand up for what I believe in. I’d be a good Vice President because I’m a good listener, Open minded, responsible and friendly, I will always be ready and willing to listen to the issues that my fellow students think should be brought up to the administration. I’d also ensure that everyone in the student community is aware of the events and activities happening through our school and as Vice President it is my goal to create an environment where no student is left out. I wish to serve as Vice President because I want to bring new and effective leadership to the SGA that will focus and help in developing the educational and professional interests of ITU’s Students.

Position Responsibilities: Prepare SGA meeting agendas and record minutes, responsible for ensuring that the SGA upholds the ITU Constitution & by-laws, work closely with the Public Relations Officer, maintain historical files and propose the SGA to make amendments or changes to policies, keep a current list of SGA members & record attendance at meetings, prepare budget proposals & other official proposals on behalf of the SGA, serve on 1 designated committee per trimester (Orientation, Graduation, etc.)
Rahul Gopinath
Hello my name is Rahul Gopinath. I am a second trimester student of electrical engineering program at ITU. I am running for Secretary/Treasurer post of ITU SGA. I know the responsibility and duties of this position is big and I believe I have the right attitude and knowledge required to run this post. Hello Everyone, my name is Bhargav Jaiswal. I’m currently studying in my second trimester of Software Engineering and am running for the post of Secretary/Treasurer. I would be playing a major role in organizing SGA functions, meetings, and handling budgets. Having a relevant experience back in my home country, I will help SGA run smoothly which in turn helps ITU to build stronger bonds with students . Also, being elected and being an important member of SGA would increase the chances to help and connect more students, especially new ones, due to which I can help them with proper guidance as per their need. Anjani Duggina
Hi friends, this is Anjani Duggina, pursuing my Masters in Software Engineering, this is my 3rd trimester here and I want to contribute for ITU and Students, so I am running for PUBLIC RELATION OFFICER. I want to be a leader and serve as a part SGA so that I can help my fellow students. I will promise I would be responsible and organized. I hope to be the voice for Students. I will always defend the best interest of my fellow students. With me as your public relation officer i will lead student council, and be heavily involved in activities.
