Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Favre said Tuesday that the combination of Bill Belichick and Tom Brady give the Patriots the advantage over the Falcons in Super Bowl LI.

Speaking on his SiriusXM show, Favre said that while he doesn’t have a rooting interest in the game, he believes New England has enough talent on both sides of the ball and the head coach-quarterback combo that will end up making the difference.

“I’m not pulling for or against New England, I’m not pulling for or against Atlanta, but it’s hard to go against New England,” Favre said. “And I know [the Patriots are] beatable, but still, just because they have Tom, because they have Bill, you have to say, boy, the advantage has to go to New England for that reason. Just extremely impressive.

“As much as things have changed, there’s two things that have remained the same, Belichick and Tom Brady. So you have to tip your hat to both those guys and you have to put an enormous amount of praise on those guys for what they’ve been able to do,” Favre added. “The constant has been them. Consistency in the National Football League is so hard to come by.  And consistency along with damn good, for lack of a better term, is almost impossible, but yet Tom has done it and so has Bill.”

Favre praised Brady as being “as close to flawless as you can possibly get” at this stage of the year.

“Tom is one of those guys that is super, super, ultra-competitive. We see that. That plays a part in his success,” he said. “He’s extremely intelligent and his leadership, as good as anyone who has ever played the game. He just, you know, he’s as close to flawless as you can possibly get.”
