NEWFIELD, N.Y. — Two men who were injured in Wednesday's construction accident in Newfield are in the intensive care unit (ICU) as of Friday afternoon at Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, Pa., according to hospital officials.

Bradley J. Berggren, 34, of Newfield and Johnny A. Sill, 65, of Spencer, were injured on a construction site Wednesday morning when they were struck by a forklift and a truck that fell into a ditch where a culvert was being replaced.

According to State Police, the driver of the forklift, 24-year-old Newfield resident Sean P. Redman, lost control of his vehicle while traveling downhill due to a mechanical problem. Redman was treated for minor injuries.
Critically injured in the crash, Berggren and Sill were airlifted to the Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital following the crash and remain in the ICU.
Hospital officials said no further information could be given at this time.
