Games for Gold

Hitman Absolution
Wear the suit of the ultimate assassin, you have the ability to blend into plain sight, kill with your bare hands and fashion a weapon from almost anything. You are Agent 47, the world’s deadliest assassin. Check out our full review of Hitman Absolution. Hitman Absolution will be available up until the April 15th 2014.

Deadlight
On April 16th 2014, Xbox Live Gold Members can download Deadlight for free up until April 30th 2014. It is the year 1986. We find ourselves in a devastated Seattle, Washington, following the story of one Randall Wayne, who lives in a post-apocalyptic world over-run by the Undead, or Shadows as they are referred to by the survivors of this ruined landscape. The world we are introduced to is one of despair and forlorn hopelessness. Randall must make his way through a 2D side-scrolling adventure that unfolds in a story that is rich and dark at the same time. Check out our Deadlight review.

New Games on Demand

Engage in explosive action with this exhilarating free-to-play FPS from Crytek, keeping you on your toes with daily new missions. Master four soldier classes as you team up to complete daring Co-op raids or dominate Versus modes. Join the battle with unique assault moves and real-time weapon customization. Downloadable and free-to-play to Xbox Live Gold members.

Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes

World-renowned Kojima Productions showcases the latest game in the Metal Gear Solid franchise with Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes. Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes is the first segment of the ‘Metal Gear Solid V Experience’ and prologue to the larger second segment, Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes launching thereafter. For such a short game, Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes is incredibly addictive. Unlike some other stealth games, it is very easy to evade enemies and results in a high level of satisfaction. Gun battles are larger-than-life in their own rights. Read our full review here.

Dark Souls II
Utter pain and anguish wash over you as you meander through the hordes of Hollow dead towards a boss for the uncountable time. There is a sense of doom and despair and being utterly alone. There is also the intense gratitude of the hardcore gamer. There is the feeling of reward and the power of knowledge and the ultimate payoff from learning from one’s mistakes. This could only be the sequel to From Software’s 2011 Dark Souls. You can check out our review of Dark Souls II here.

South Park: The Stick of Truth
You begin as the new kid in town facing a harrowing challenge: making friends. As you start your quest, the kids of South Park are embroiled in a city-wide, live-action-role-playing game, casting imaginary spells and swinging fake swords. Over time, the children’s make-believe game escalates into a battle of good versus evil that threatens to consume the world.

Arm yourself with weapons of legend to defeat Crab People, underpants gnomes, hippies, and other forces of evil. Discover the lost Stick of Truth and earn your place at the side of Stan, Kyle, Cartman, and Kenny as their new friend. Check out our full review here.

New Demos:

MXGP – The Official Motocross Video Game

60 riders, 60 bikes, 14 tracks and rules from the official MX1 and MX2 2013 FIM Motocross World Championship. What more could you ask for? According to the developers all the tracks are completely new and loyal to their real-world counterparts. Why not check out the demo and see if it lives up to your expectations?

EA Sports 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil Demo

The playable demo of EA SPORTS 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil is now available to download. This is your first opportunity to experience the game hands-on before its launch. EA SPORTS 2014 FIFA World Cup launches on consoles on April 15 in North America and April 17 in Europe.

The Lego Movie Videogame
The Lego Movie Videogame would probably have to be my second favourite Lego-based video game, with Marvel Lego Super Heroes being my first. Overall, The Lego Movie Videogame features a unique storyline that includes a great cast of characters. While the gameplay elements are pretty much the same as past titles, it does however mix things up a bit with the introduction of the Regular Builder as well as the Master Builder. This is definitely a game you should check out… especially if you are a fan of Lego titles!

New Arcade Titles:

Blackgate Deluxe Edition

Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate – Deluxe Edition amplifies the 2.5-D game with new maps, enemy encounters, difficulty levels, batsuits, and enhanced visuals. A companion game to Batman: Arkham Origins, players can continue the storyline of the console version and discover more details of the Dark Knight’s past. Featuring stealth gameplay, free-flow combat, and Batman’s famed arsenal of gadgets, the genuine Arkham experience is reproduced in a deep, action packed side-scrolling adventure.

Constant C
Dive into the world of Constant C… a world where the rules of fundamental physics no longer apply. Set upon a space station far away from Earth, a mysterious event has triggered a distortion of time. Journey through the game as a lone robot, who tries to uncover the truth behind the incident as well as find out the purpose of his own creation.

Far Cry Classic

Far Cry Classic is the ultimate console version of the very first Far Cry game, bringing you back to the roots of this franchise. It’s another beautiful day in tropical paradise…or is it? Take the role of charter boat captain, Jack Carver, who finds himself hunted by an unrelenting team of highly trained mercenaries in this nature-gone-wrong FPS adventure. Choose to rely on firepower, strategy or stealth, abuse your freedom into massive outdoor environments, and fight for your life against tactically intelligent enemies.

New Game Add-ons

Bioshock Infinite Burial At Sea Episode 1 & 2

Come back to Rapture in a story that brings Booker and Elizabeth to the underwater city on the eve of its fall from grace. Developed by Irrational Games, the studio behind the original BioShock and BioShock Infinite, this DLC features Rapture as you’ve never seen it before—a shining jewel at the bottom of the ocean, built almost entirely from scratch in the BioShock Infinite engine. Check out our full review of both episodes here.

Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare: Garden Variety Pack
The Garden Variety Pack features 24 new ability upgrades for all characters, like Sunflower’s Solar Flare Beam and Chomper’s Super Goop that cements zombies in place.  There is also All-Star Zombie’s Ultra Tackle. These upgrades give you even more loadout options for the battle in the fun-dead field! The pack also introduces the explosive new Gnome Bomb mode that challenges plants and zombies to work together to destroy each other’s reinforced garden or graveyard!
