An iconic hero, Collection King Manchu Mohan Babu is completing 40 years as an actor in the Telugu film industry. He is energetic, his flawless dialogues, passion for acting, timing in comedy and his fierce expression on screen has, had and still is entertaining audience with same reach which he had earlier in his career. On the occasion his benchmark which is going to be set on November 22nd, here is a small walk through his career and his history.

Hailing from a small middle class family from Rayalaseema, his passion for acting and the silver screen led him to Chennai to pursue his dreams. He got his first break as an actor through Swargam Narakam, which was released on the 22nd of November, 1975, directed by ace director, Dasarai Narayana Rao. Dasari Narayana Rao re-christened Manchu Bhaktavatsala Naidu to Manchu Mohan Babu, and this screen name remained his identity.

From acting in over 520 movies, to being the hero in more than 180 movies, his foray into the industry has been nothing but an encyclopedia. Starting off his career as the assistant cameraman to acting as a small time villain to becoming one the biggest heroes and character artists in the industry, Mohan Babu has carved a niche for himself.

He is fondly called the collection king and dialogue king of the Telugu industry, for his unmatchable style of dialogue delivery, the blockbuster hits associated with him. He started his own production house, Lakshmi Prasanna Productions, which has given over 60 blockbuster hits. His children, Manchu Lakshmi, Manchu Vishnu and Manchu Manoj have carved a niche for themselves and have been successful in the Telugu film industry.
